EPA608 TESTING
This is an EPA approved cer fica on test that meets the requirements set forth in SECTION 608 of the Clean Air Act, as regulated by the United States Environmental Protec on Agency (EPA).
HVAC contractors fall under the Universal technician category: Persons who maintain, service or repair low and high pressure equipment, including small appliances, must be cer fied as UNIVERSAL technicians.
EPA Test Content Technicians wan ng to be cer fied as a Universal technician must complete all four sec ons—Core, Type I, Type II and Type III (25 ques ons each). The EPA refers to SECTION A as the CORE.
Tes ng Day This is an online test. The only outside materials allowed are calculators, scratch pads and pressure temperature charts. In order to receive cer‐fica on, applicant must achieve a 70% score on
each sec on.
