300 000 retroconverted records

HOW TO INTERPRET THE FIGURES- everything is done from scratch:

the largest union catalogue prior NALIS UC had 310 000 bib records and was not easily accessible

- by a handful of people (the NALIS team was 3 people in 2009-2010 and 4 people in 2011)

- Bulgaria is a small country- the founding libraries increased their electronic bib

records (SU with over 200 000, CL-BAS – ca 60 000)

Advantages - No new buildings- Minimal expenses after the initial investment in

hardware and software- No new staff- More patrons- Quicker and easier access to information

resources- Popularisation of a library
