Objective: To use color,
patterns and mirroring to
create a abstract insect.
What is in a name?
It can simply be an identifier
or rounded lines. Possible it
can turn into objects like a
bug, a cat or a flower.
In the name pattern project
you will use your name with
colored patterns to create a
abstract design.
Materials needed for
project:
White piece of paper
Colored pencil
Instructions:
1) Fold paper in half
lengthwise

Instructions:
2) With colored pencil
draw name in cursive
on paper with the
bottom of letters
touching the fold.

and trace name using
light box so when
paper unfolds name
will be mirrored.

pencils color in all
enclosed areas with
patterns.

Requirements: •All enclosed areas must be
filled in with patterns
•Patterns for each mirrored
side can either be matched
or not matched.
•Background must be
colored in. It can be solid or
have pattern.
When finished:
•Write name and period on
back of project.
•Turn paper vertically so
you can see the final results.
