Name “Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me.” Psalm 27:11 Abraham trusted God in all things. He even trusted Him when it came time for Isaac to have a wife. Abraham asked his faithful servant, to travel to his homeland to find Isaac a bride. Though we don’t know for certain, we believe that this servant was Eliezer. After a few days, Eliezer arrived at a city at the same time all the maidens were drawing water from the well. Eliezer stopped and prayed for God to show him which maiden was the right one. A young maiden named Rebekah offered him some water to drink, and she also drew lots of water for his caravan of camels that were traveling with him. When he asked her who she was, he discovered she was part of Abraham’s brother’s family. He knew God had led him to the right maiden to be Isaac’s wife. He thanked God and gave Rebekah some beautiful gold jewelry— an earring and two bracelets. Her family offered Eliezer a place to stay in their home, and his camels could stay in their barns. He accepted their kindness and talked to them about why he was there. The family was very excited. Rebekah agreed to return with Eliezer to be Isaac’s bride. When they were almost back, she saw Isaac walking in a field, and he saw her. They were soon married. Abraham had trusted God to guide Isaac to Rebekah.
