Crime Busters Practice test 2010
Dr. J Smith returned from a trip to the office to find her lab in shambles. She only left the room for a couple of minutes while filling the vials for a chemistry lab test scheduled for the next day, so she had not bothered to lock the door. Dr. Smith heard a noise outside and rushed to the window in time to see someone pedaling off furiously. Unfortunately the person was trying to get away so fast that the bike wheel slipped off the pavement sending the bike and its rider flying. Police found a bike track, footprint, and blood on the sidewalk. In addition to the dumped chemistry test materials, the police also found a sample bottle containing water and a note indicating the vandalism was in retaliation for Dr. Smith’s investigative work on water quality at Lemon Lake. That narrowed the suspects since Dr. Smith only had two students whose parents worked at industries on Lemon Lake.
You will need to identify the dumped Crime Buster materials, identify the problem at Lemon Lake and determine from the evidence which of the suspects perpetrated the crime.
