Modi meets masses, after Sadbhavana, its Garib Kalyan Mela next month

For last some time, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is meeting masses. Be it his Sadbhavana fast, or his address

at Changa institute or district Sadbhavana fast, at every place he takes benefit of direct touch with thousands of

people. The next round of Modi govt meets masses is even more intensive. In November, Modi is going to kick off the

second round of Garib Kalyan Mela. In such mela, Modi and his ministers give away benefits of various government

schemes for poor directly at one place. When Modi and his party bulldozed Congress in district and taluka panchayat

elections, Modi gave credit to Garib Kalyan melas in his victory speech.

The next round of Garib Kalyan Mela will start in November, and district administrations are gearing up to organize

the events taluka wise.

Contrary to his Ahmedabad fast, Modi allows others to observe fast with him in Dwarka, 8000 locals join

During his three-day Sadbhavana fast in Ahmedabad, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi had clearly instructed his

party workers and government officials that no one would observe fast with him. But in his district level fasts, the

Chief Minister has allowed people to observe parallel fast.

As many as 8,000 people from six talukas of Dwarka are sitting on fast with Chief Minister Narendra Modi today.

Modi to open prestigious e-Governance conferences on Monday

Computer Society of India (CSI), Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and Nirma University in collaboration with

Department of Science & Technology, Government of Gujarat are jointly organizing two prestigious conferences on e-

Governance from 17th Oct to 18th Oct 2011. The list of speakers comprises of IT Secretaries from across India,

faculties from premier institutes like IIM and IIT, top executives from NIC, NRHM, ICT, UID-AADHAR, CSI, IMNU,

NREGA and industry leaders from IT companies viz. TCS, Oracle, CISCO, Microsoft and others.

The conference will be inaugurated on 17th Oct by honorable CM Shri Narendra Modi. Mr R. Chandrashekhar

Secretary, Department of IT, Ministry of Communication & Information Technology shall be the Guest of Honour at the

event and will also chair the session on Inclusive Growth through Gov 2.0 at the first Plenary Session of the

conference.

Sharing details about the two conferences, Mr Ravi Saxena, ACS, Department of Science & Technology, Govt of

Gujarat said, ICEG-2011 is the eighth event in a series with earlier events held at Colombo, Lahore and New Delhi

The First International Conference on e-Governance was inaugurated by the honorable President Dr Kalam in 2003.

Since 2006, Special Interest Group on e-Governance of Computer Society of India (CSI) has been an active partner

with IIT Delhi in co-hosting ICEG. A significant milestone in the e-governance arena, the conference promises to be an

invigorating confluence of the best brains from the academia and the industry. Scientists, faculty and students from

prestigious universities across the globe have expressed a keen desire to be part of this mammoth event. Major

information technology solution providers have assured industry participation. And most importantly, key governmen

officers and NGO / community volunteers have guaranteed strong representation of the user community. Given the

presence and support of experts across the globe, the conference promises to be an important opportunity of sharing

research findings and learning from current e-governance experiments.
