Hello Nantucket!Dear Nantucket,As our island grows and expands, so must the Nantucket Community School! We appreciate your patience through our many office renovations and relocations during the past three years. We are EXTREMELY happy to report that the CommunitySchool offices are now fully planted and ensconced in TWO beautiful locations designed with you in mind! While we continue to utilize the NPS campus to run programs,we have two strategically-located registration offices with additional classrooms that have been developed based upon the interests and needs of our year-round commu-nity members and summer guests. Our downtown campus at 56 Centre Street serves as our Adult Education & Enrichment hub; to provide space for fitness, personal awareness, language and career de-velopment programs; equipped with state of the art technology for distance learning and computer related courses; and as host to the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute(OLLI), a collaborative partnership with UMASS Boston to connect Nantucket’s lifelong learners with additional opportunities for fun, friendship and high quality instruc-tion. Also Included downtown are the playgroups, kindergarten readiness activities, education classes and family-friendly events designed to build connection andfriendship among our youngest islanders and their families. Our newest mid-island campus located at Candlewick Corner (128 Old South Road), serves as the Community School’s administrative and registration offices. The EarlyChildhood Center has been relocated to share this location and is NOW OPEN! The ECC is available for Drop-In play five times per week including an evening and week-end option. Parents and caregivers are invited to attend our Early Childhood Advisory Committee (see page 6) to share ideas, enjoy this space as a community and helpguide future programming. Our Community Recreation office is also located at Candlewick Corner. During this pilot year, the Community School is responsible for program development and sched-uling at the Delta Fields, Nobadeer Farm Fields, Tom Never Fields, Winter Park (Essex Rd.) and the Jetties Beach Tennis Courts. We are excited to add this role to ourrepertoire as it is a good fit with our existing programs and mission, and is an efficient way to manage resources while helping to minimize redundancies. Interested inrunning a league, clinic, camp or event? Please stop by our new office or visit our website for application details. The Nantucket Community Pool is located adjacent to Nantucket High School at 10 Surfside Road. This facility boasts a six lane, twenty-five yard pool with aone-meter diving board, separate adult and youth locker rooms and a brand new Timing System. While not a full registration site, the Community Pool servesas an additional resource point for information about Community School activities. Our Aquatics team offers water-based programs for all ages including swimlessons, aqua-fitness classes, adult lap swim, family swim, Junior Dolphins & Dolphins youth swim teams, adult competitive swim meets and lifeguard certifica-tion courses. NEW this year - a specialized beginner swim program for adults!Yes, our island is growing and expanding. As we enter into this season of giving thanks, I want to share how much we appreciate being a small part of a com-munity that is always so big in heart.

With gratitude,
