Legacy“Without a Thought Philosophy” People shouldn’t really have to think about an object when they are using it. Not having to think about it makes the relationship between a person and an object run more smoothly. Finding ideas in people’s spontaneous behaviour and realizing these ideas in design is what Without Thought is about.

Design Manifesto• Designing shape is to give form to values that people tacitly share and wish

for. Naoto Fukasawa visually captures these values and he draws the exact outline of them. His ability for visualising such unseen outlines for things is not easily worded and described, nonetheless, people are convinced with his ability when they experience his design.

Influence• Smart Design's Director of Insights and Strategy Tim Wallack

says Fukasawa's focus on simplicity and ease-of-use influenced designers at his firm when working on the Photosmart 375 printer for Hewlett-Packard.
