Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
It is with much anticipation that I greet each of you. God has blessed me with the
awesome and priceless privilege to serve our greatest constituents, our youth. I would
like to thank each of your for attending last year’s session in New Orleans, Louisiana. It
is my desire that you found the session inspiring and uplifting where souls were added to
the Kingdom.
The YAC team and I have worked tirelessly to ensure that we have an extensive and
exciting Youth and Children's Convention. This team has left no stone unturned and you
are sure to see the evidence in Louisville, KY. I invite you to encourage at least ten young
people to attend the convention this year, as well as, invite churches that you haven't seen
in a while, and watch God lend to us exceptional acts during that week. We appeal to all
members to take your family vacation with the YAC Convention 2020.
We shall have more information forthcoming, until then keep the faith! Again, you're
invited to seize an opportunity to electrify your spiritual antenna to receive your blessing

Dear Drill Team Directors:
Greetings in the matchless name of Jesus Christ!
This year we “pick up the step” in Louisville, Kentucky. The YAC officers and staff of NBCA are
working and preparing for your arrival in June. We look forward to the fellowship and the continued
spiritual enrichment of your youth and children. Please note the following for this year’s Drill Team
Competition:
CATEGORIES
Beginner (Category I) – teams that have 2 years or less of drill team ability/experience
Intermediate (Category II) – teams that have 3 to 5 years of drill team ability/experience
Expert (Category III) – teams that have 6 years or more of drill team ability/experience
Note: Please register your team according to their ability/experience, not their organization date.
REQUIRED MATERIAL - Each drill team is required to have all of the following in their routine:
Evangelism (Scriptures that pertain to the Plan of Salvation)
The 66 Books of the Holy Bible
Baptist Ordinances (Scriptures pertain to Baptism and the Lord’s Supper)
The Lord’s Prayer
A Praise Song (your choice)
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (KJV)
The YAC Theme and its supporting Scriptures in their entirety. (“Unapologetically Certain.” –
Matthew 6:33 II Timothy 3:1-14)
TIME
Each drill team will have 7 minutes to complete their routine.
JUDGING
Bible Knowledge – This judge examines the routine to see if the required material above is part of the
routine.
Maneuvers – This judge is concerned with the synchronization of team members (moving together) and
the execution of given commands (accuracy and precision).
Appearance/Attitude – This judge is concerned with both the bodily and facial appearance of team
members. (Is there uniformity among team members? Are team members neat and clean? What about
facial expressions? Do team members look like they wish they were doing something else? How do they
react if/when they make a mistake? Are team members “half-stepping”?)
Creativity – This judge looks for the creativity in drill team routines. For example: “Drill Team A”
simply stands there while quoting the books of the Bible. On the other hand, “Drill Team B” has a variety
of movements while quoting the books of the Bible. Both teams have met that part of the Bible
Knowledge requirement, but the team that demonstrated creativity will receive more points in this
category.
Time – This judge keeps time for the team’s performance. If/when a team reaches the 5 minute mark,
the time judge will stand indicating that the team has 2 minutes remaining. At the 6 minute mark, the
time judge will sit indicating that the team has 1 minute remaining. If a drill team goes over the allotted
time, 5 points will be deducted. For each minute over 7 minutes an additional 2 points shall be deducted.
******************************************************************************
Pearline Perkins Marching Award – All judges participate in the judging of this award. Judging takes
place throughout the week and only during the processionals of the various services. Attendance,
appearance, alignment and creativity are the major factors the judges consider. In addition, they observe
your breakdown (“pick up the step”). This award is separate from drill team competition.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have. I am here to serve!
Yours in Christ,
Chris Anthony Drill Team Coordinator

E-Information Sign-up
Form
A new concept is revolutionizing the way people communicate in the digital age. In a continuous effort to
streamline processing and improve efficiency, we will be sending periodic News Blasts and updates via e-
mail and Facebook. We are asking each church to designate an e-mail address where you wish to have all
future Youth and Children’s Convention Pre-registration packets and updates to be routed.
We feel that this will allow us to stay better connected with our youth groups and leaders and keep them
abreast of important updates throughout the year.
Please complete this form and return it to the Youth and Children’s Convention office with your Pre-
registration.
