National Day Celebration of Uganda & Spain Workshop on Doing Business with Uganda, Spain, Hong Kong and Macau On 3 rd October 2015, GTU celebrated the National Days of Uganda & Spain, Workshop on Doing Business with Uganda, Spain, Hong Kong and Macau. The Global Country Study Report (GCSR) is a two-semester project in the curriculum of GTU’s Global MBA program. Since, last three years, MBA students of GTU are studying various aspects like culture, politics, environment, economics and demography of countries of the world. They identify the bilateral trade opportunity of Gujarat and India with the country of study and propose a detailed business plan to establish or improve the business in a specific industry. During the academic year 2015-16, students of GTU MBA institutes are studying more than 100 countries. GTU has started the unique activity of celebrating National/Independence Days of the countries, being studied under the GCSR program. The National Day Celebration began with lamp lighting by all the guests. As a convention of the National Day Celebration, all the participants and Guests recited the national anthems of India, Uganda & Spain. 3 rd October 2015 ,at GTU Chandkheda Campus

On 3rd October 2015, GTU celebrated the National Days of Uganda & Spain, Workshop on Doing Business with Uganda, Spain, Hong Kong and Macau. The Global Country Study Report (GCSR) is a two-semester project in the curriculum of GTU’s Global MBA program. J. Institute of Management - who are studying “Hong Kong”, Atmiya Institute of Management, - who are studying “Spain” and Kadadia Institute of Management - who are studying “Macau” have participated in the event at
Gujarat Technological University.
Mr. Keyur Darji, Deputy Director–GTU welcomed the audience and the guests. He highlighted the objectives of the national day celebration. He said, “National day is a unique program initiated by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Sir”.
Dr. Akshai Aggarwal, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, GTU welcomed the audience and appreciated the initiative of National Day Celebration that has completed almost two years. He encouraged students to prepare GCSR report as per the given university guidelines.
He highlighted the need of hard work, sincerity and study for making a bright career. He compared Indian education system with Canadian education system. He asked the faculty members to play an active role in career building of students.
Dr. Shivendra Gupta, Member, Board of Advisors Committee for GCSR, appreciated efforts of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor for providing endless career opportunities to students and faculty members. He highlighted importance of self-awareness, time management for becoming successful in life.
Mr. Sunil Modi, Member- Board of Advisors Committee for GCSR, shared his global experiences. He highlighted importance of India and Uganda relationship. He said that India’s freedom struggle inspired the early Ugandan activists to fight colonization and eventually achieved freedom. The bilateral relations between India and Uganda are characterized by historical Cultural linkages, extensive economic and trade interests, and a convergence on major bilateral and international issues. India and
Uganda closely cooperate at regional and international fora. India is also one of the largest trade partners of Uganda. The balance of trade is heavily in favor of India. The major items of India's exports to Uganda include, among others, pharmaceuticals, bicycles and bicycle parts, automobile components, small industry & agro-processing machinery, 2-wheelers, textiles, tyres and sports equipment. Uganda imports almost 30% of its pharmaceuticals from India. India's imports from Uganda include, among others, tea, wood and wood-products.
He said that GCSR is a unique program in Indian University System as it provides a platform for students of several countries.
Dr. Kaushal Bhatt, Assistant Professor -GTU proposed the vote of thanks to the speakers on behalf of GTU for gracing the National Day Celebration and sharing their experiences with the participants and faculty members of all the four institutes. At the end he quoted that “Success is not achieved without hard work and who cannot work hard they may not receive their results on time. He also compared life of human beings with game of Squash and informed that the harder one hit the ball the faster he receives the ball in the same way the harder students hit their luck the better
and faster they will receive result. At the end he thanked all faculty members of all four institutes for active participation.
In the Technical session, the students from all the four institutes presented the brief on the STEEPLED Analysis done on their respective countries, analysis of the prospective industries of the GCSR country, Prospects in Gujarat and the same at the allocated other State of India.
The panel members have given their comments on the area of improvements with respect to the presentations on specific country.

At the end of the celebration, Centre for Global Business Studies- Gujarat Technological University presented awards to all the four institutes for their active participation in the National Day Celebration of Uganda & Spain, Workshop on Doing Business with Uganda, Spain, Hong Kong and Macau.
