Collaborative Leadership dialogue to end Gender-based violence (GBV)A brief presentation by Irada Gautam, General Secretary , Women security Pressure group at a National Discourse April 3, 2015 Friday, Kathmandu
Participants are; Representatives of major political parties, government officials and civil society leaders in Kathmandu attend a national dialogue on gender-based violence (GBV). The participants held interaction on legal, administrative and policy deficiencies that impede the prevention and prosecution of GBV; ways to effective implementation of existing laws as well as steps they could collective take to address the issues of GBV. The dialogue was organized by Women Security Pressure Group with support from UNDPs Conflict Prevention Programme ( CPP).Ending Gender Based violence: Promoting Collaborative Leadership and Dialogue WSPG IN PARTNERSHIP WITH UNDP/CPP Why we initiated? Build knowledge and skills on dialogue process, and collaboration among the networks of WSPG
Form an informal dialogue team that mobilized reducing Gender-based Violence
Promote constructive dialogue and collaboration based on research which show the weaknesses and loopholes on laws and legislatures and implementing mechanisms to combat GBV

Created conducive environment to reduce gender-based violence through dialogue process,
Sharing, get commitment, internalized and understand to each other
Developed long term strategy within WSPG based on CLD Training consultation,
Dialogue is used as a tool for each activity and we realized its effective tool to bring the positive, supportive / cooperative role to address GBV issues.

Build on culture of solidarity for social and legal justice against GBV
Recently Parliament passed the act of Sexual harassment in work areas through dialogue, with follow up of women leaders, CA members, policy makers and strong solidarity of network
Shown commitment, internalized the GBV issues among different actors, service providers, law implementers
