The NFF 2014 National Congress theme is Producing our Future. Many areas impact on opportunities for producing our future. The theme provides an opportunity to explore a broad range of concepts such as:

• Social aspects: agriculture’s role within our society; leadership and the next generation; community perceptions, values and attitudes.

• Environmental & innovation issues: competition for natural resources; sustainability as core business; use of technology in agriculture.

• Economic impacts: enhancing competitiveness; trends impacting on global supply and demand; opportunities for positioning the industry; increasing profitability at the farm gate.

THE CONGRESS WILL:• Examine our core business:

what constitutes the main or essential activities of agriculture today?;

• Consider challenging viewpoints: what social and environmental movements are occurring that may impact on farm profitability and sustainability?;

• Explore blue-sky opportunities what trends and developments could drastically redefine agriculture as we know it?; and

• Celebrate Family Farming: linking to the 2014 UN International Year of Family Farming, the featured evening event will pay special tribute to family farmers at the National Portrait Gallery.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?If your future depends on the future of the farming sector, then it’s time to register. In the audience will be:

With ample free on-site parking, the Australian Institute of Sport is located on Leverrier Crescent in Bruce – 8.5km from the City Centre or a 12 minute drive. AccommodationA Congress group rate has been secured at both the Canberra Rex Hotel and Pavilion on Northbourne, Canberra. Complimentary coach transfers to and from the AIS Arena will be available to congress delegates staying at these hotels only.

A limited number of rooms at these group rates are available, so please book early to avoid disappointment. No payment is required at time of booking. Full payment will be required on check-in at the hotel. Cancellations will not be accepted within 30 days of check-in and would be subject to full payment.

Situated in an ideal location on Northbourne Avenue, Canberra RexHotel is 1km north of the city centre and minutes away from key nationalattractions and award winning restaurants. It’s 6.3km from AIS or a littleover 10 mins drive. The Canberra Rex Hotel encompasses 157 hotel andsuite style accommodation rooms located over 4 floors.

Hotel reception is open 24 hours a day. Complimentary on sitecarparking is offered, subject to availability, and wireless internet accessis available for purchase. A hearty hot buffet breakfast is inclusive in allaccommodation rates.

The Pavilion on Northbourne is located only 2km from Canberra CityCentre and close to all major attractions. It’s approximately 5.5km or 10mins drive to the AIS.

The deluxe hotel rooms have been recently refurbished and the hotel issituated in tranquil, lush garden settings. They have a 24 hour businesscentre, outdoor pool and gym and offer complimentary underground carparking together with daily newspaper.
