Small Club - 29 members and under ii Medium Club - 30-59 members iii Large Club - 60-99 iv Ex-large Club - 100 members + STATE GARDEN CLUB applications are judged according to size determined by number of members on whom NGC dues are paid, including garden club members, Affiliates, State Life Members, etc. i. #1 CIVIC ACHIEVEMENT - The Kellogg Civic Achievement Award - Silver snack tray by Michigan Garden Clubs, Inc. OVERALL WINNER - The Village Garden Club of La Jolla (Aiv) CA The Jacaranda Tree Planting Project creates an environmentally beneficial attraction that encourages residents, visitors and travelers to enjoy the local landscape, especially when the trees are covered with lavender blossoms. Donors con-tribute $50 to purchase a Jacaranda tree. Planting sites are arranged so that the public benefits. A Tree Dedication Ceremony is held annually. #2 GARDEN CENTER - The Fisher Garden Center Award - Silver snack tray OVERALL WINNER - Grapevine Garden Club (Aiv) TX The Grapevine Garden Club’s West Texas Street Beautification Project provides gardening assistance to local low income housing community through volunteer workdays and donation of planting material. #3 LITERARY HORTICULTURAL INTEREST - no winners #4 HORTICULTURAL ACHIEVEMENT - The Evelyn Mooney Award - Purple Rosette WINNER - Marianne Parrs, member of Southwind Garden Club TN Establishing a wildflower garden, creating formal gardens with herbs, annuals, and perennials, and creating a habi-tat for birds and butterflies is important to any one and their community. Sharing knowledge, cuttings, and seeds further enables Marianne to change the lives of many.

#6 CONSERVATION - In honor of Lucile Droege Mauntel - Silver snack tray donation by National Capital Area Garden Clubs, Inc. in honor of Former NGC President, Shirley Nicolai. OVERALL WINNER - The Garden Club of Fair Haven (Aii) NJ Purchasing and planting dune grass helped this club restore the borough’s dune structure following Super Storm Sandy. Three miles of beaches and protective sand dunes were demolished during the storm. A new courtyard and walkway garden provides a relaxing place for visiting and meditating. Landscaping labor was done by church member volunteers under Toni’s direction.
