NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM Shaunak Amin, Jonathan Bergman, Matthew Eisner, Kevin Hansen, Nors Hexum, Sol Immerman, and Paarth Shah took the 2010 PSAT/NMSQT and met requirements to enter the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program. Because these high performers have shown outstanding academic potential, they are now invited to be referred to two colleges or universities in the United States in which they are especially interested. Of the more than 50,000 students being offered this service, about 16,000 will be named Merit Program Semifinalists, representing the top scorers in each state. Congratulations! EVERYDAY HEROES The following High School students have been named Everyday Heroes in the WENY/First Heritage Federal Credit Union program: Zachary Hogan, Kenneth Lewis, Ariel Rossman, Ashley Sheesley, and Cory Sweet. Honored students will receive a $100 savings bond, plaque, and a chance to win $1,000. Students are chosen based on their service, character, and attitude. Congratulations! FINAL CONCERT On June 4, 2011 the High School Wind Ensemble will present their final concert of the year at 7:00 p.m. in the Auditorium. All alumni and family members are invited for Mr. Carichner’s final concert.

GRADUATION CEREMONY – CLASS OF 2011

The future is around the corner for the young men and women of

Horseheads High School. Graduation is the ceremony which culminates our

students’ high school years and is the doorway into their future.

On June 25, 2011 they will each be part of this memorable event

which will carry them into the job market, the service, or off to further

education. Many of their friends and family members will be attending this

that it is a positive experience for everyone. The following are expectations for the

Graduation Ceremony:

shirts, shoes (no bare feet or sandals), dresses, skirts, and blouses.
