Lao CSOs national consultation workshop on
VNR/SDG recommendation organized by LCCO on
April 26-27, 2018. there are 30 participants from 25
CSO organizations with support by GCAP.
The Recommendation submitted thought UNDP to
Government of Laos and sharing with CSO
members, INGOs, Regional and Global levels
(GCAP….)
CSOs Engage in VNR and SDG process
Laos have extra SDG 18-National (UXO)
CSOs Networks, also by sectors (Including
platform and ICT)
Networks with governments
Better cooperation and opening/engagement
between GoL and CSOs
Almost good policies, strategies, degree and
laws.
Government opening hotlines (Prime minister
office, MoF, NA, MONRE and others…)
INGOs are very strong support such as UNDP,
EU, OXFAM, GIZ and Etc... In national, rregional
and global agencies.
Opportunities/Good Experience
Limited of access/publication of government
information.
People is stilling concern to expression openly
No CSOs in the national secretariat for VNR
process.
Limited access to funds.
Low capacity of CSOs on VNR process.
No CSOs work specific on advocacy (almost
community development)
CSOs partnership guideline not clear (not only
participation)
Some challenges
Increasing CSOs engage in the full process of
planning, implementing, monitoring,
evaluating and reporting in local, national,
regional and international levels.
Capacity building and network/sharing of
CSOs.
Translate and publishing/communication.
Long-term funding support.
Develop clear guideline for partnership
