tation for excellence in providing a com-
prehensive program for the study of Ara-
bic as a foreign language to students
from around the world.
The Place
Morocco is s located in northern Africa. Its cli-
mate is Mediterranean. The culture of Morocco
is very diverse since it was home to Romans,
Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Berbers,
Arabs, Jews, and Europeans.
Rabat, Morocco’s capital and second largest
city, has a population of three million. Rabat
hosts Morocco’s most prestigious universities,
as well as many international institutions such as
UNESCO. The city offers a combination of the
modern and the traditional, and provides a wide
range of opportunities for students to experience
its culture through art exhibits, music, and thea-
