NATIONAL SOUPS

INTRODUCTION

Soup is a primarily liquid food, generally served warm (but may be cool or cold), that is made by combining ingredients such as meat and vegetables with stock, juice, water, or another liquid . Hot soups are additionally characterized by boiling solid ingredients in liquids in a pot until the flavors are extracted, forming a broth.

Traditionally, soups are classified into two main groups: clear soups and thick soups.

There are different type of soups as follow- Dessert  Fruit Cold Asian Traditional regional varieties

MINESTRONE SOUP Minestrone is the national soup of Italy. Main Ingredients- Onion, Beans, Rice, Carrots,

Tomato etc.

FRENCH ONION SOUP French onion soup is the national soup of France Main Ingredients- Beef, Onion, Crouton and Cheese.

AJIACO SOUP

Ajiaco is the national soup of the Colombia. Ingredient – Chicken, Corn, Sour cream, Guasca, Capers and

Avocado.

GAZPACHO SOUP It is the national soup of Spain. Main ingredients- Bread, tomato, garlic, bell pepper, salt etc.

MISO SOUP It is a national soup of Japan. Main Ingredients- Fish broth, miso pasta, dashi etc.

CABBAGE SOUP (SHCHI) It is the national soup of Russia. Main Ingredients- Onion, carrot, sour cream, cabbage etc.

MENUDO SOUP It is the national soup of Mexico. Main ingredients- Beef, lime, onion, cilantro, oregano etc.

TARATOR SOUP It is the national soup of Bulgaria. Main Ingredients- Cucumbers, garlic, nut, dill etc.

SOPA NEGRA SOUP It is the national soup of Costa Rica. Main ingredients- Blacks beans, chicken broth, eggs, garlic,

sweet peppers etc.

GINATAAN SOUP It is a national soup of Philippines. Main Ingredients- Coconut milk, gata etc.

GREEK LENTIL SOUP It is a national soup of Greece. Main ingredients- Onion, Carrots, tomato paste, oregano etc.

FISH SOUP BEE HOON It is a national soup of Singapore. Main ingredients- Fish stock or bones, fish , bee hoon, yams,

milk etc.

YELLOW PEA SOUP It is a national soup of Canada. Main ingredients- Onion, chicken stock, yellow split peas,

potatoes etc.

PEANUT SOUP It is a national soup of Africa. Main ingredients- Peanuts, onion, garlic, chicken groth,

tomatoes , coconut milk etc.

TOM YOM SOUP It is a national soup of Thailand. Main ingredients- Kaffir lime, mushrooms, thai chile peppers,

tomato, onion etc.

KWATI SOUP It is a national soup of Nepal. Main ingredients- Beans, soybean, cowpea, rice, black gram etc.

EGG DROP SOUP It is a national soup of China. Main ingredients- Beaten egg, chicken broth, black paper, green

onion etc.

MOCK TURTLE SOUP It is a national soup of England. Main ingredients- Brains and meat (calf’s head), onion, lemon

juice, eggs etc.
