Jonel EngineeringBatching Controller

Model: Advantage Batching Controller (ABC)

System Description: This system consists of compatible, certified indicating and load receivingelements, water meters, monitor, keyboard, process logic controller (PLC), and one or moreslave printers.

Application: General purpose batching scale controller for asphaltic or cement concrete.

Identification: The required identification information is displayed on the main menu screenfor the system ID. From the main menu, select "config" and then "values" to view theaggregate and cement indicating element identification information. The plus and minus keysare used to view the aggregate and cement ID screens.

Sealing: The video display (primary indicator) uses a Category 3 audit trail and is viewable in the“Scale Audit Report” on the CRT. The external slave indicating element does not affect theamplified load cell signal to the CRT and is for informational purposes only.

Test Conditions: A field evaluation was conducted on this system interfaced with a JonelModel JL-DSD-253B indicating element (Certificate of Conformance 90-072) as the source ofthe weight and motion detection information. The emphasis of the evaluation was on theperformance of the computer system, its interaction with the load receiving element, andinformation printed on the weight ticket. The results of the evaluation indicate the devicecomplies with applicable requirements.

Model: HS Series

Application: Hopper Scale weighing elements for use with certified indicators in portable and permanent ready mixedconcrete batching plants.

Identification: A metal identification plate is permanently attached to the side of the hopper.

Sealing: All calibration parameters are sealed in the indicator. The load cell junction box has no adjustable components, however, it can also be sealed with a pressure sensitive security seal on one edge of the hinged cover.

Test Conditions: Three models were tested to cover the family; 8000 x 4 lb (three cells), 10 000 x 4 lb (four cells), and 40000 x 20 lb (four cells). The weighing elements were interfaced with Cardinal Model 738 indicators (CC No. 86-035A3). The emphasis of the evaluation was on the design and performance of the weigh hoppers. All three modelswere tested using at least 25% of capacity of known test standards and direct substitution methods to capacity of thedevices. Several increasing/decreasing load, discrimination and return to zero tests were conducted. The indicator andjunction box of each scale was sealed and similar tests were repeated after the scales were used for the time andnumber of weighments criteria had been met. All test results were within acceptance tolerances.

Results of the evaluation indicate the devices comply with applicable requirements.
