Programs for High School Students Ages 15-19 National Conservation Crews Tuition-free volunteer projects for current high school students or newly graduated seniors provide a transformational experience, as members not only serve the land but also constantly challenge themselves both individually and as a team. Six-to-eight students in good physical condition serve as a crew under the supervision of two trained, experienced leaders. They live in tents for 3-5 weeks and cook their own meals while effectively maintaining trails and restoring habitat. Leadership Crews SCA’s Conservation Leadership Crew is a fee-based, hands-on conservation service experience that adds an exciting new dimension to SCA’s National Crews. You will walk away with concrete outdoor skills certifications and a focused training on leadership, wilderness medicine, and outdoor education, all within SCA’s hallmark structure of giving back to mother nature through hands-on conservation service. Community Programs SCA engages youth in cities nationwide to take care of and restore the green spaces in and around their own communities. Serving alongside resource management professionals, SCA interns make substantial contributions to our natural and cultural treasures while gaining valuable new skills, career experience and memories to last a lifetime. Benefits include housing, a living allowance, round-trip travel and the potential for an AmeriCorps Education Award.

Browse hundreds of positions on our website. Here’s a sample:

n Native Plant and Desert Restoration teams enhance and preserve essential habitats.

n AmeriCorps-funded programs include SCA-Idaho, Adirondacks, Hudson Valley, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.
