Programs for High School Students Ages 15-19 National Conservation Crews Tuition-free volunteer projects for current high school students or newly graduated seniors provide a transformational experience, as members not only serve the land but also constantly challenge themselves both individually and as a team. Six-to-eight students in good physical condition serve as a crew under the supervision of two trained, experienced leaders. They live in tents for 3-5 weeks and cook their own meals while effectively maintaining trails and restoring habitat. Leadership Crews SCA’s Conservation Leadership Crew is a fee-based, hands-on conservation service experience that adds an exciting new dimension to SCA’s National Crews. You will walk away with concrete outdoor skills certifications and a focused training on leadership, wilderness medicine, and outdoor education, all within SCA’s hallmark structure of giving back to mother nature through hands-on conservation service. Internships for Ages 18 and OlderExpense-paid internships include a mix of individual and team-based opportunities. Individual interns serve for 3-12 months each year. Serving alongside resource management professionals, SCA interns make substantial contributions to our natural and cultural treasures while gaining valuable new skills, career experience and memories to last a lifetime. Benefits include housing, a living allowance, round-trip travel and the potential for an AmeriCorps Education Award.
