INTRODUCTIONThese are such material which present in our natural environment and useful to living organisms.

Ex : earthly life living beings etc..

All the components are mixed to form a biosphere.

BiosphereAbiotic Biotic

Abiotic : The matter such as water ,soil ,land ,air ,coal ,petroleum etc…Biotic : Material such as human beings ,animals ,pants & trees etc…

The Natural Resources may be physical or biological resources…

Physical Resources : The resources such that water ,soil ,land ,air ,coal petroleum etc…

Biological Resources : Material such as human beings ,animals pants & trees etc…

Classification of Natural resources

Natural resources

Exhaustible

Inexhaustible

Inexhaustible Resources: These are present in unlimited quantity in nature and not likely to be exhausted by human activity or use.

For exampleSolar energyAir Water

Exhaustible Resources: These are present in limited quantity and supposed to be finished by human activity and uses.

For example:CoalpetroleumMineral

Exhaustible Resources Are Categorized Into Two Groups:Renewable Resources: If once lost and can be replaced when managed wisely.

For example AgricultureAquatic LifeWild Life

Non – Renewable Resources : If once used or lost for ever as they can never be restored.

For exampleFossil fuelsMetallic mineralsNatural gases

The Breath Of Life : Air

Air is a mixture of many gases like nitrogen, oxygen, co2 and water vapors.

All living beings need oxygen to break down glucose molecules and get energy for their activities.

This results in the production of carbon dioxide.

The Movement Of Air: WindsThese phenomena are the result of changes that take place in our atmosphere due to the heating of air and the formation of water vapor.

RainWhen water bodies are heated during the day, a large amount of water evaporates and goes into the air.

Air PollutionAdding unwanted

substance. By human activities ,some

natural disasters or natural activity etc..,

Causes physical , biological imbalance of atmosphere.

Oxygen CycleThe oxygen cycle is the

biogeochemical cycle that describes the movement of oxygen within and between its three main reservoirs: the atmosphere (air), the biosphere (living things), and the lithosphere (earth’s crust). The main driving factor of the oxygen cycle is photosynthesis, which is responsible for the modern Earth's atmosphere and life.

Water : A Wonder Liquid

Water is one of the most important part of our life.

It is important for metabolic reactions.

It is present in only 2.7% as fresh water and 0.7 is ground water.

Water PollutionCombination of undesirable substance.

It makes water unfit for usage.

Dirty water mixed in rivers ponds, oceans etc…

Various harmful substances make water poisonous.

Rain Water HarvestingIt is a technique used to capture the water or to use in lack of rain.

It is not beneficial for rich but it is for all the annual rain fall in all over India is 1200mm .

Then lack of water may be occur any time so it is better to be prepared.

Water CycleIt is also known as the hydrologic cycle.

Describes the continuous movement of water on above and below the surface of the earth.

Water can change states among liquid, vapor and ice during the water cycle.

Soil : Mineral RichesAbout 1/5th part of earth’s surface is under soil Land.

It consist of mineral matter ,organic matter ,water ,air ,living organisms.

It is divided by horizon as A B ,C ,D Etc….

The Factors That Make Soil

The Sun: The Sun heats up rocks during the day so that they expand.

Water: Water helps in the formation of soil in two ways.

Wind: Water rubs against rocks and wears them down, strong winds also erode rocks down.

Types Of Soil And Its Composition

s. no. Type of soil composition

1. Black soil Main constituent is clay.

2. Red soil Sandy loam soil.3. Desert

soilSandy soil.

4. Mountain soil

Gravel and sandy soil.

5. Alluvial soil

Loamy ,clay soil.

6. Laterite soil

Porous clay soil.

Soil PollutionThe contamination of soil with solid waste which reduce its fertility.

Sources of soil pollution are solid waste ,chemical ,excessive use of fertilizers and pesticides.

It causes a very bad effect on environment.

Nitrogen CycleThe nitrogen cycle is the biogeochemical cycle that describes the transformations of nitrogen and nitrogen-containing compounds in nature. It is a cycle which includes gaseous components.

Carbon Cycle

The carbon cycle is the biogeochemical cycle by which carbon is exchanged among the biosphere, pedosphere, geosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere of the Earth.

Global WarmingGradually increase in the temperature of Earth surface and atmosphere too.

Causes very bad effect on all environment.

It is believed that is caused by the Green House Effect.

Green House EffectIt is a mixture of all harmful gases that are poisonous.

Ozone didn’t allow to enter these rays in it.

Cause a very bad effect for living beings, and also for all environment.

Ozone Layer (O3)This layer absorbs 93-99% of high frequency UV rays, which is potentially damaging to life on earth.

A layer which protects the environment of Earth from the ultra violet rays of Sun.
