The blessing of the palm crosses
Priest Let us pray. We praise and bless you, ever-living God, for the
acts of love by which you redeem the world through Jesus Christ our
Lord. This day he entered the holy city of Jerusalem and was proclaimed
king by those who spread their garments and palm branches along his
way. Let these branches be a sign of his victory; and grant that we who
bear them will always acclaim Jesus Messiah by walking the way of his
suffering and cross; that, dying and rising with him, we may enter into
your kingdom. Through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and
the Holy Spirit, now and for ever.

have set my face like flint, and I know that I shall not be put to shame;
he who vindicates me is near. Who will contend with me? Let us stand
up together. Who are my adversaries? Let them confront me. It is the
Lord God who helps me; who will declare me guilty?

1. Christ is made the sure
foundation, Christ the head and cornerstone, chosen of the Lord, and precious, binding all the Church in one; holy Zion's help for ever, and her confidence alone. 2. To this temple, where we call you, come, O Lord of hosts, today; you have promised loving kindness, hear your servants as they pray, and your people now before you, turn our darkness into day.
3. Hear the cry of all your people, what they ask and hope to gain; what they gain from you, for ever with your chosen to retain, and hereafter in your glory evermore with thee to reign.

Priest It is right indeed to give you thanks most loving God, through
Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, the first born from the dead, the
pioneer of our salvation, who is with us always, one of us, yet
from the heart of God. For with your whole created universe, we
praise you for your unfailing gift of life. We thank you that you
make us human and stay with us even when we turn from you to
sin.
All God’s love is shown to us: while we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us.
Priest In that love, dear God, righteous and strong to save, you came
among us in Jesus Christ, our crucified and living Lord. You
make all things new. In Christ’s suffering and cross you reveal
your glory and reconcile all peoples to yourself, their true and
living God. In your mercy you are now our God.
Through Christ you gather us, newborn in your Spirit, a people after your
own heart. We entrust ourselves to you, for you alone do justice to all
people, living and departed.
All Now is the acceptable time, now is the day of salvation.

Accept our praises, living God, for Jesus Christ, the one perfect
offering for the world, who in the night that he was betrayed, took
bread, and when he had given thanks, broke it, gave it to his
disciples, and said: “Take, eat, this is my body which is given for
you; do this to remember me.”

After supper he took the cup; and when he had given thanks, he
gave it to them and said: “Drink this, all of you. This is my blood
of the new covenant which is shed for you, and for many, to

Therefore, God of all creation, in the suffering and death of
Jesus our Redeemer, we meet you in your glory. We lift up the
cup of salvation and call upon your name. Here and now, with
this bread and wine, we celebrate your great acts of liberation,
ever present and living in Jesus Christ, crucified and risen, who
was and is and is to come.

Priest May Christ ascended in majesty be our new and living way, our
access to you, Father, and source of all new life. In Christ we
offer ourselves to do your will.

forward and receive this Holy Sacrament / Te Hakari tapu or a blessing.

All Lord Jesus Christ, you humbled yourself in taking the form of a
servant, and, in obedience, died on the cross for our salvation:
give us the mind to follow you and to proclaim you as Lord and
