CelesteCarterreceivedherPh.D.inMicrobiologyfromthePennsylvaniaStateUniversitySchoolofMedicine.ShecompletedpostdoctoralstudiesattheUniversityofCaliforniaatBerkeley.ShejoinedtheDivisionofBiologicalandHealthSciencesatFoothillCollegein1994todevelopandheadaBiotechnologyProgram.ShewastherecipientofanNSFDUEaward,whichproducedasetofcasestudiesandassociatedlaboratorieswithbiotechnologyindustrypartners.From2001-2003and2007-2008,sheservedasaProgramDirectorintheDivisionofUndergraduateEducation(DUE)attheNationalScienceFoundation(NSF).
