Enlistment Requirements: • Must be a citizen of the United States. • Must be a resident of North Carolina (at time of application. • Must be at least 18 years old. (Anyone und er 18 must have written parental consent) • Prior military service is desirable, but not a prerequisite for enl istment. • Prior military service must have an Honorable Discharge. • Prior service applicants may be enlisted in the next highest grade attained during military service. • Applicants must be of sound mind and free of mental or emotional disorders. • Convicted felons are ineligible to join. • Background checks are performed on all applicants. • There is no set period of enlistment. • US Army Class A, B, C Dress Green, or ACU/BDU camouflage are authorized uniforms. • Distinctive pocket patches, NC State Guard nametapes are worn. • All personnel of the NCSGA are required to furnish their own uniforms. • NCSGA personnel are required to attend monthly drill sessions and Annual Training. • There is no reimbursement for the cost of attending drills, or Annual Training. • NCSGA complies with EEOC policies.
