Variance Between Prior andCurrent Year

257.21 281.99 24.78 (9.63%)

Required explanation of 9.63% difference:

Increase Decrease

x Number of sports

Tuition, fees, required course-related books, room and board (full grant amount)

Athletic grant amount (athletic aid amount)

x Student athletes receiving athletic aid

Change in division by sport

Move between FCS/FBS

Variance explanation: The reason why there is an approximately 9% variance between 17-18 and 18-19 is asfollows: Men's Lacrosse was added as a sponsored sport. The coaching staff for Men's & Women's Skiingchanged, which brought a change to recruiting and the awarding of scholarships. The new staff maximizes thenumber of grants permitted rather than saving them for when prospects are done competing for a national team.Football better maximized their grants from 17-18 to 18-19 with a countable increase of 81 to 84. There wasalso an increase in mid-year transfers, which also causes an increase in the number of student athletes receivingaid. The last item is in regard to the prior year total being less than the total equivalencies on our 2018 report. This was due to some sports being above the maximum equivalency limits. The paid equivalency was 257.21,but we had reported 266.21, which is a difference of 9 equivalencies.
