Dear Friends,
We are very excited about the 20th Annual New York
NCSY Chinese Auction and are very glad that you have chosen to
support us in this worthy endeavor. The event is a real opportunity for you to
win some wonderful and valuable prizes. But more importantly, your participation will
enable our team to continue its incredible work – to keep reaching for the stars.
NY NCSY is charged with the crucial mission of inspiring Jewish teens and reconnecting them with their heritage. Through our creative programming, we reach, educate and inspire over 1,500 Jewish teens throughout the Five Boroughs, Long Island and Westchester – in Jewish Culture Clubs that meet in more than 40 public schools, in Latte & Learning groups that meet in local coffee shops, and in Friday Night Lights programs taking place in numerous small communities throughout the New York area. You will also run into us every summer in numerous locations throughout the world operating more than a dozen summer programs. And of course, we connect with thousands of teens on the web.
This year’s Chinese Auction theme, “Reaching for the Stars,” features the biographies of alumni who have been moved by their involvement with NCSY. These alumni are our stars. Your support through this auction and other activities will enable us to
reach many more stars. We hope their inspiring stories will motivate you to become a part of our NCSY family.
We extend our warmest thanks for your participation in the 20th Annual NY NCSY Chinese Auction and wish you luck in the final drawing. However, regardless of whether
you win the prize, by participating you’ve already earned the merit that comes with making a positive impact in the life of a Jewish teen.

NCSY is the premier organization dedicated to connecting, inspiring and empowering Jewish teens and encouraging passionate Judaism through Torah and tradition. Through your involvement in this auction, you’ll be giving teens across the world the opportunity to be inspired for a lifetime.
Jewish Culture Clubs - Public SchoolsNCSY runs more than 250 Jewish culture clubs on public high school campuses. The clubs provide Jewish teens with programs that strengthen their Jewish identity and connection to Israel. Teens gain a deeper appreciation for their rich Jewish heritage and are inspired to live committed Jewish lives.
SAGE - Judaic Scholars InstituteSAGE is a semester-long program that offers substantive college accredited Judaic studies courses to public school juniors and seniors. Each course provides a strong foundation in Jewish history, literature and philosophy for any teen interested in discovering and cultivating a greater sense of Jewish identity.
Latte & Learning - 20 coffee shops serving up Torah to teens each weekLatte & Learning brings Judaism to local coffee shops for a relaxed, fun and inspirational learning experience. By meeting teens where they want to be, Latte & Learning is the place for teens to ask questions, voice their feelings, and connect with each other. For many Jewish teens, this is their only source of Jewish nourishment.
Friday Night Lights - Bring the Shabbaton experience to your communityFNL offers an inspirational experience to towns with limited Jewish resources. Advisors light up the community and build close relationships with the teens and parents in each community. Last year, New York NCSY hosted 60 FNL Shabbatons, with over 1,500 participants.

“I began NCSY as a student in public school. NCSY gave me hadracha in how to integrate into a frum society. Here, I saw how Shabbos can be exciting and inspiring, rather than a bunch of rules and restrictions. With the guidance of Rabbi Barry Nathan, I continued on the Derech Program at Ohr Somayach, where I first tasted yeshiva life and experienced the authenticity of Judaism.”
Keith RotbardKollel Member in Sh’or Yoshuv, Kollel Zichron Efraim Heschel and Congregation Beis Medrash of Cedarhurst
“NCSY gave me the life I lead today. The key to the success of NCSY is the advisor-teenager relationship. Even way, way back in the 80’s, teens needed older role models to guide them in the right direction. The quality of the staff in NCSY ensured that each participant was bonding with a true leader. The relationships I made back as a teenager in NCSY are still my closest friends today. That connection has endured for over 25 years.”
Scott M. FeltmanExecutive Vice President, One Israel Fund
“NCSY greatly impacted my life by providing me with a solid group of Jewish friends who also want to learn more about Judiasm and grow. NCSY enabled me to network with many other Jewish teens and get to the point where I am now at Yeshiva University.
I believe that NCSY led me to where I am today by inspiring me and other Jewish teens to love and practice Judiasm. As a product of public school education, my Jewish knowledge was limited, but after becoming involved in NCSY, I learned so much more about my heritage and people.”
Daniel LandauStudent at Yeshiva University
“I was most inspired at Yarchei Kallah, not from a specific shiur or event, but from the experience as a whole. It was incredible to be among hundreds of other public school kids who chose to learn Torah during winter break. I can’t think of many things that would draw teenagers away from the allure of a New Year’s Eve celebration with their friends, and if I did, I wouldn’t put Torah on the top of the list. That experience alone showed me how powerful NCSY’s impact on Jewish youth really is.”
Melissa KramerStudent at Machon Maayan, Israel
“One of my favorite memories in NCSY was havdalah at my last Spring Regional Convention in NCSY. That Saturday night the room was filled with so much passion and happiness. Everyone there was a part of something bigger than themselves. We were are all dancing and singing in unison as we were ushering out Shabbat and saying goodbye to our NCSY family.”
