kr:ye' Was Alert; Nabbad

By JACK DEMPSEY Leave it to William Gurvich, veteran private eye, to be, as they say in the police vernacular, "where the action is- CurNich who heads a detective agency, was in Baton Rouge last week for the annual Louisiana Peace Officers Association convention, and nabbed a suspect in a theft case. He aided Baton Rouge officers in arresting a 46-year- old woman who was subsequently booked r for theft of antiques from Nell Fetus's Interiors, 342 Lafayette, in the state capital.

Gurvich said he became suspicious of the woman when he first saw her in a drug store shortly before the report of -the theft became known. * He noticed that the woman appeared quite nervous and he got the feeling she was "casing the place.- After he left the store he went for a ride 10th Lafourche Parish Sheriff Eddie Ste. Marie and Baton Rouge police officers L D. An-drepont and Eduard Pierce.

Then they received the description of a woman wanted for the antique theft, and Gurvich realized the description fit the woman he had seen in the drug store a short while earlier. Her arrest quickly followed. The arresting officers found two of the antiques allegedly stolen in the woman's purse a minature owl and a miniature set of dice.
