OUR MISSION The N. E. Miles Jewish Day School strives to create a family of learners who value lifelong study,
respect human diversity and are able to make informed choices about their lives. Our goal is to
provide a stimulating and nurturing environment, encouraging each student to feel positive
about him/herself and others while preparing each student to be knowledgeable, caring and
contributing members of the Jewish people, the United States of America, and the world. As a
community day school, we seek to imbue our students with a love for G-d, Torah, and Israel and
to teach respect for diverse viewpoints. Our unique program endeavors to
integrate Judaic and General studies, incorporating the highest values of
Judaism and American democracy.
A LETTER FROM OUR HEAD OF SCHOOL Hello friends! I am so excited that you are able to join us at the Friedman Center for Jewish Life, and so very grateful for what that represents: a generous and involved community of past and present parents, grandparents, alumni, faculty, staff, board members, donors, and friends who wholeheartedly believe in our school’s mission!
As you know, we are in the final throes of our Capital Campaign - aptly named Building for the Future. With our renovations winding down and our teacher training revving up, this school year has indeed been a year teeming with joyful learning, exciting discovery, unbridled creativity and enormous growth.
Tonight we gather as a community, eat, have fun and fundraise together to benefit our exceptional Day School. There are many people to acknowledge and thank, but three in particular deserve a shout out! Thank you to Craig McClure for being the glue that held our team together, and to Barbara Aland, and Stacey Eddy for co-chairing the Gala this year! You both led a fantastic and enthusiastic group of volun-teers and as a result of your leadership, this evening is a rousing success!
I would also like to thank the Day School’s administrators, faculty and staff and our many corporate and individual sponsors, for without you, this evening would not have been such a success!
I don’t want to count my chickens before they hatch, but I will… and say thank you to you all in advance for your very generous support! Please accept my heartfelt gratitude for everything you do to help the NEMJDS thrive as the truly exceptional place that it is.
If you haven’t already done so, please come by for a tour…it’ll be my pleasure to show you what your support has done for our community Day School.

of Jerry and Louise Neff. The 2003 Cha teau de Beaucastel Cha teauneuf

produced by using a much larger percentage of old vine Mourvedre,
which can be up to 60% of the blend, depending on the vintage. Out of
the entire Cha teauneuf-du-Pape appellations, this wine can probably
be aged the longest. Cha teauneuf-du-Pape Hommage a Jacques Perrin
is black purple to the rim, with an extraordinary nose of smoke,
camphor, blackberry, cassis, sweet cherry, white flowers, licorice, and
Chinese black tea. The wine has superb richness, huge tannins, massive
concentration, and a monster finish – according to Robert Parker, Wine Advocates,
it is rated a 95 (an outstanding wine of exceptional complexity and character).
