state standards

• Internationally benchmarked, so that all students are prepared to succeed in our

• Based on evidence and research

NE Standards Criteria:

• Focus on students before content

• Be broad, deep and few, representing the most essential and enduring concepts

• Reflect on-going research and best practice

• Reflect knowledge and skills relevant to citizens of the 21st century

Organization of Common Core

• Standards for individual grades K, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8

• Standards for grade clusters Math 9-12

ELA 9-10, 11-12

• ELA include standards for Literacy in History/Social Studies and Science in grades 6-

12
