Youth Symphony

Founded in 1958, OAYO was born through a joint partnership between the metro-area public schools and the Omaha Symphony Guild. Celebrating 60 years later, OAYO has been building a pipeline of musical talent and patrons who appreciate the arts

OAYO proudly presents the only music education program of its kind in the area. Our orchestras and chamber music ensembles provide high-level musical instruction and performance opportunities including concerts, outreach events and retreats. We create a musical community that fosters artistry and friendship in an environment that promotes discipline, cooperation and leadership.

THANK YOU...for joining us today here at SumTur Amphitheater! In September, 1977, Darwyn “Tony” Snyder, right, organized a group of 70 adult musicians and the Nebraska Wind Symphony, Omaha’s Community Concert Band, was born. Tony and others had long recognized the need for a performance outlet for those who had spent years in high school and college band programs and would enjoy and support an organized group with which to play. We celebrate the vision of these founding members whose foresight resulted in establishing the Nebraska Wind Symphony! We look forward to seeing you on July 4th at 5 pm at the Capitol District in downtown Omaha! Support the All-Volunteer Nebraska Wind Symphony as we wrap up our 44th Season and keep an eye on our website and Facebook for plans for our

45th Season!
