Symptoms:

Above ground symptoms are not specific.

Weak top growth and small chlorotic leaves that wilt quickly in warm weather.

Tubers also show galls, deformations.

Severe attack causes early death of infected plants.

Roots show shallow bushy

appearance.

Underground symptoms include

presence of galls on the roots and

pimple like structures on tuber.

Organic amendment of soil to reduce the nematode activity in the soil. Use resistant variety like Kufri Swarna.Deep ploughing during summer months.Crop potato with non host crop for at least two years.Strict quarantine measures particularly in Nilgiri hills for golden nematode disease.
