2010Joyce Abrames, MSHSA, BSN, RNC is a nurseworking for GE Healthcare focusing on productresearch and education. With over 28 yearsexperience in such varied areas as rural Level Icommunity centers, Labor & Delivery, NICU’s andPICU’s, ground and air transport, she hascontinued to follow her passion for educatingpatients, families, and clinicians worldwide.
James Cummings, MD is Section Head of theDivision of Neonatology at East CarolinaUniversity, Greenville, NC. He studied, received histraining, and completed his fellowship at SUNYUpstate Medical Center. His special interest is inacute and chronic lung injury.
Juanita Davis, APRN, MN, NNP-BC is a NeonatalNurse Practitioner at Emory University in Atlanta,Georgia. She received her Master’s Degree inPerinatal/Neonatal Nursing with a Minor Degree inNursing Administration at Emory University. As wellas clinical management of patients, she alsofunctions as consultant, teacher, and supervisor.She has been instrumental in implementingperipherally inserted central catheter (PICC)programs at many facilities in the Atlanta area.
Jill Dorsey, MD is a Pediatric Gastroenterologistat the Nemours Children’s Clinic in Jacksonville,Florida. She studied at Wayne State UniversitySchool of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. Shecompleted her Fellowship in PediatricGastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at theChildren’s Hospital of Cincinnati in Cincinnati,Ohio. Her clinical interests include inflammatorybowel disease, Crohn’s disease and ulcerativecolitis, and eosinophilic esophagitis.
William R. Driscoll, DO is Assistant Professor ofPediatrics in the Division of Neonatology at theUniversity of Florida College of Medicine,Jacksonville campus. He studied at the New YorkCollege of Osteopathic Medicine and completedhis fellowship at Buffalo Children’s Hospital inBuffalo, New York. His clinical/research interest isin neonatal outcomes.
Elizabeth Gyland, MSN, ARNP is the Manager ofWolfson Children’s Hospital PhysicianAssistant/Nurse Practitioner Services. She receivedher Master’s Degree in Nursing and is currently aDoctoral Candidate at the University of Florida,Gainesville. She specializes in Neonatology andPediatrics, and was instrumental in designing,developing, and training the Baptist MedicalCenter Kids Kare Pediatric Team.
Charla E. Miller, Pharm.D. is the Head ofNewborn Intensive Care Pharmacy Services,Department of Pharmacy at Wolfson Children’s
Hospital, Baptist Health System, Jacksonville,Florida. She studied at Clemson University andthe Medical University of South Carolina. She isresponsible for providing pharmaceutical careto the Level III NICU at Wolfson Children’sHospital and assisted with the development ofthe Level II NICU at Baptist South.
Rees E. Oliver, MD is Assistant Professor ofPediatrics in the Division of Neonatology at theUniversity of Alabama, Birmingham. He studiedat the Medical College of Georgia andcompleted his fellowship at Thomas JeffersonUniversity Hospital in Philadelphia,Pennsylvania. His clinical interest is in routineand complex comprehensive care of children.
Mobeen Rathore, MD is Associate Chairman inthe Department of Pediatrics at the Universityof Florida College of Medicine, Jacksonvillecampus. He serves as the HospitalEpidemiologist for Wolfson Children’s Hospitaland is Chief of Pediatric Infectious Disease andImmunology. He received his training at KingEdward Medical College, Lahore, Pakistan, andcompleted his fellowships in St. Louis, Missouri.His clinical special interests are in Pediatric HIVand infectious disease in children.
Jacqueline Jones Wessel, MEd, RD is aNeonatal Nutritionist at Cincinnati Children’sHospital, Cincinnati, Ohio. She is an AmericanDietetic Association Board Certified PediatricSpecialist. She studied at the University ofCincinnati. She is also a Certified LactationEducator, receiving her training at the Universityof California at Los Angeles. Her interest is innutritional support for high risk infants andchildren.
Wendy D. White, RN, BSN, MSN, WOCNcurrently works as the Pediatric Wound CareSpecialist at Wolfson Children’s Hospital. Shepreviously was a NICU nurse at Wolfson for over20 years. She also is involved with the Children’sMiracle Network.
John Wilgis, MBA, RRT is Director forEmergency Management Services for theFlorida Hospital Association. A licensedRespiratory Therapist specializing in Adult andNeonatal ICU, and hospital administration, he isa Past-President of the Florida Society forRespiratory Care. He received his degrees inHealth Care Services and in Health CareManagement from the University of Phoenix. Hecurrently works with the Florida Department ofHealth as hospital liaison for Public Health andMedical Preparedness and serves as co-lead tothe Hospital Surge Capability Team.
