Click on “Make Movie or Slide Show.”

Choose your settings.

1. Get Started

2. Import Clips, Photos and AudioUse the “Import” menu to add video clips from a device or your media library.

Drag and drop video clips, pictures and audio from the “My Media” palette to the storyboard or timeline.

3. Build Your Storyboard

Use the “Split Clip” button under the video for very fast trimming. Cut the clip, then delete the half you don’t want. (For more precise trimming, see tip #6.)

Highlight the clip in the storyboard and press the Delete key on your keyboard. Or, right-click on the clip and select delete.

5. Remove Clips

Double click a clip in the storyboard to open the “Trim” window. Drag the trim cursors to the start and end points you want.

Quickly adjust the volume on any clip by clicking on the speaker icon in the right corner.

8. Add TransitionsAdd transitions between clips by choosing a Transition effect from the Effect Palette and dragging it between the clips on your timeline.

9. Add Text EffectsAdd text to your videos by choosing an effect from the Text tab of the Effect Palette and dragging it to the Text line in the timeline. Double click the effect and type your text directly into the preview pane.

10. Rotate and Scale ImagesRotate and scale your videos or pictures by clicking on the video in the Preview screen and adjusting the corner handles. Or, click on the Express Effect Control button within the clip, then choose a preset setting for scale and rotation.

11. Apply Effects to the ClipsChoose an effect from the Video Effect tab of the Effect Palette and drag it onto a clip in the timeline. In Express Editing mode, click the “fx” icon on a clip to apply the effect to your whole project or remove it.

12. Switch to Advanced Editing ModeWhile Express Editing provides many creative ways to enhance your project, if you need the precision and control of a multi-track editor, switch to the Advanced Editing mode with one click.

When you are happy with your movie, click the “Next” button at the bottom of the page to return to the Start page.

14. Export Your Movie

Click “Export” on the Create & Export menu.

Choose your format and profile, then export your video to file or share it online. In many cases, Nero Video 11 will automatically detect and pre-select the best output format for you.
