- About 15 participants locally and 6 participants remotely- 4 speakers (3 remote: 2 Singapore & 1 Malaysia) using MCS over Satellite

Working Group and Elections

-The WG was held right after the session-Elections were held.-3 nominations for Seow San to continue as chairman, with no other nominations

Satellite Internet WorkshopObjectives: This workshop will provide information and case studies on using Satellite

Internet to for high speed internet connectivity. The workshop will also highlight uses of Satellite Internet in positioning, and as well as solutions to common satellite connectivity problems.

Charter

– Prepare policies and guidelines for the security architecture for APAN Organization.– To raise the security awareness and knowledge within APAN community, and – To cooperate with other international security efforts to raise security awareness, capabilities and interoperation globally.– Bi-annual Joint sessions/ Workshops/Tutorials and WG meetings during APAN meetings. New Working Group in APAN

• Proposal for an APAN Engineering Team/Working Group, part of the APAN “Network Technology”, called “SIP Working Group”

• Interim Chair: Stephen.Kingham@aarnet.edu.au

• The group will need a work plan

• What do we need to peer/promote APAN SIP– How to peer VoIP, H.323 and SIP (routing)– Standardise on a Dial-plan– Who has Equipment, Gateways and or MCUs– Authorisation between VoIP Domains– Co-operate with groups working on QoS

Hands on workshop at next APAN meeting

• Objective: Help get people and organisation started

• Over one whole day workshop.

• Activity:– Bring a PC with a defined Unix build.

– build a SER SIP Server

– Configure some SIP clients

– Network the servers using DNS, preferably with pre-configured DNS entry in your Organisations DNS.

– Make calls.

– Take SIP Server back to home country/organisation.

– Make calls to other Countries who participate in SIP.edu.
