Consorzio per Valutazioni Biologiche e Farmacologiche (CVBF) is a not for profit organisation with the mission to provide scientific, economic and regulatory consultancy for innovation in the health sector at European le-vel. The main fields of interest are life sciences and biotechnologies, drug development for small populations (pediatric – rare diseases), research management, clinical trial methodology, monitoring and statistics, ethics and pharmacovigilance.CVBF has longstanding experience in the field of rare diseases and paedia-tric research where acts as certified CRO by providing services related to clinical trial management. It is also a member of the Italian Association of CROs (AICRO) and of several scientific networks promoting clinical trials.

NETWORKING AND INNOVATION FOR LOCAL DEVELOPMENT

University Hospital Center “Mother Teresa” in Tirana is both the biggest sa-nitary institution in Albania and the only one academic-sanitary institution. Actually, UHCT “Mother Teresa” is classified as the Albanian tertiary cen-ter, serves as a reference center for regional hospitals of Albania and of-fers ambulatory healthy service for nearly 150 000 persons annually, of which hospital service for over 60 000.It is calculated to have almost a total of 2297 employees, from which 1664 are health professionals, and the total number of surgical interventions wi-thin a year is nearly 19 000. There are nearly 140 lecturers in University of Medicine (Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Technical Medical Sciences).
