The Kidsmatter expo had a fantastic turnout and I would like to thank all those involved in the organisation and the service providers who participated. This was followed by two great days at the Interschool Carnival where our students did us proud both with their display of sportsmanship and in achieving some great wins. Well done! Our Kindy Open Day was another well attended event and I was excited to welcome all parents to the introduction to Kindergarten for 2019. Another thank you to the organisers on such a successful event. Finally, several of our senior girls represented the school at the Girls Regional Cricket competition. We are very pleased to announce that they won the event and will take part in the State Finals this week. We wish them good luck! Mrs Knight - Principal Hi everyone Last week students and staff across Years 4 to 6 travelled to Landsdale Farm School for a 3 day camp, and what a fantastic time we had. We started off at Kings Park and spent 3 hours exploring and playing. We then travelled to the camp site and got settled. During our time there, we fed animals, had billy tea and damper, rode on the train, listened to a farm talk and engaged in a variety of games and activities including a fun water fight - I think I lost that one! The weather was kind, the food was delicious (prepared by Mrs Flutter and Mrs Edwards) and not one electronic device was used by students throughout the 3 days. I would like to thank parents for trusting us with your children, the children for their exemplary behaviour and their willingness to participate in activities and try new experiences, and the staff for volunteering their time. Hopefully this is the first of many camp experiences for our children. Our Administration building is coming along nicely and should be at lock up stage by the end of next week. Thank you for your continued patience throughout the building process. I would like to encourage parents and caregivers to join our school board. We are in need of parent representation for 2019. It is a small commitment, approximately one hour per term, but it is an opportunity for you to have a say in the future direction for our Centre. Please come and join our friendly team. Please remember to attend our Assembly next Friday in the undercover area – the children have been practising all term and I am sure you will be amazed with their performance. Dear Parents,

I am very pleased to report that we have had some very successful events at Leda in the past couple of weeks. The Kidsmatter expo had a fantastic turnout and I would like to

thank all those involved in the organisation and the service providers who participated. This was followed by two great days at the Interschool Carnival where our students did us proud both with their display of sportsmanship and in achieving some great wins. Well done!

Our Kindy Open Day was another well attended event and I was excited to welcome all parents to the introduction to Kindergarten for 2019. Another thank you to the organisers on

such a successful event.

Finally, several of our senior girls represented the school at the Girls Regional Cricket

competition. We are very pleased to announce that they won the event and will take part in the State Finals this week. We wish them good luck! Mrs Knight - Principal

Hi everyone Last week students and staff

across Years 4 to 6 travelled to Landsdale Farm School for a 3 day camp, and what a fantastic time we had.

Congratulations to Miss Durrant and the students of Room 8 for their assembly item about recycling and making sure that people put their litter in the bin. They showcased 3 skits about different

ways that litter could harm the environment including: two soft drink cans, one being recycled and the other being littered, sea creatures being harmed by plastic bags, fishing nets and plastic rings and a school bin trying to get the attention of the students to make sure they disposed of their rubbish properly.

On Thursday and Friday of week 4, 91 students over the two days attended the KSSA Interschool Athletics Carnival. The students performed very well and represented the school with pride as they participated in many events over the two days. The teachers were very happy with the sportsmanship and behaviour shown by the children. It ended up being a very close finish with the top 3 having 27 points between them: 1st Bertram 620, St Vincent’s 609, Leda 593. The staff were very proud of the children's effort and the result. We also finished second on the spirit shield. A big thank you to Mrs Fielding, Ms McKenna, Mrs Williams, Miss McBride, Mrs Bettineschi and Miss Peacock for all their help! Special thanks to the Leda P & C and their helpers for hosting the canteen on the day.

Congratulations to the medallist winners: Bree-anna Millington finished 3rd overall for Year 6 girls and Brock Smith finished Champion Boy for Year 4 boys. Great work Leda!! Mrs Williamson, PE Teacher

On Thursday 8th November, the girls

cricket team represented Leda at the

WACA Regional Finals at Yokine

Reserve. The girls had been training

before the carnival and were keen to

do well. Ms Rann and Mrs Fielding

were extremely proud of the way the

girls performed on and off the field

and the sportsmanship and

teamwork they showed was

fantasc. Feedback from the other

school that a ended was also very

posive and we were told that the children had lovely manners and even came and cheered for their team

when they weren't playing. The girls won their four matches: 105-58, 123-83, 163-58, 160-53.

The team will now compete in the WACA State finals on Friday Week 6.

Last term the children in Year 1 and 2 in

Block One were learning how to write

reports. They all did a fantasc job wring

a report about an Australian Animal with a

diorama that showed their animals

environment. The children put on a

wonderful display of their work, where we

were able to view each others reports and

display them to other classes,

parents and staff.
