DIY: Summer Paint Party Thursday, August 02, 3:00pm Enjoy a fun night of step-by-step painting, music & refreshments! Go home with your own original artwork! All materials are provided. Yoga with a Twist! Tuesday, August 07, 3:00pm Join us to relax and rejuvenate! Have fun while learning simple yoga poses, meditation, visualization techniques, stress management methods and mindfulness practices. Make a positivity craft that you can take home with you! Yoga mats will be available, but we encourage you to bring your own mat if you have one! TEEN CUISINE: Keyboard Sandwiches Wednesday, August, 08, 3:00pm Teens will make an edible keyboard using two full sandwiches, topped with American chees and a crafted spread. TEENS HELP: Children’s Summer Party Helper Tuesday, August 14, 2:30 – 4:30 pm Incoming 9th – 12th graders, help the Children Department with their End of Summer party. TEENS HELP: Pet Emergency Kits Thursday, August 16, 3:00pm Teens will decorate and pack a small container filled with emergency care items for pet lovers. Teens will earn 1.5 hours of community service. TEEN CUISINE: Waffle Pops Wednesday, August 22, 3:00pm Revamp your love for waffles by learning how to make them in to pops! Teens will use icing and sprinkles to decorate their waffle pops! TEEN CUISINE: Oh Fudge! Tuesday, August 28, 3:00pm Learn how to make your own fudge with marshmallows, cookies, and pretzel extracts!

Join us for an exciting teen Zumba class! Zumba is a workout regime that blends dance forms into a total body workout that is fun and interactive. TEEN CUISINE: BBQ Sauce and Spice Rubs Tuesday, July 24, 3:00pm Make BBQ Sauce to take home, along with two spice rubs to get ready for the BBQ Season. DIY: Music Shrinky Dinks Wednesday, July 25, 3:00pm Use special paper to create music-themed keychains that represent your musical taste or talent! Zombie Make-up Workshop Thursday, July 26, 5:30pm Join us for this hands-on workshop focusing on expression and creativity. Teens will learn step-by-step to creating themselves into a zombie using latex, face paint, and tissue paper. TEEN CUISINE: Snack Attack, Apple Berry Salsa and Cinnamon Chips Tuesday, July 31, 3:00pm Learn how to make a light and refreshing chips and dip at the library!

Book Buddies Mondays, July 02, 09, 16, 23, 30, & August 06, 3:30pm – 4:30pm Share your love of reading and books by reading aloud to children age 3-6. Applications will be available at the YA desk. LEGO Buddies Mondays, July 02, 09, 16, 23, 30, & August 06, 6:00pm – 7:00 p.m. Builders unite! Help littler building bring their creations to life with LEGOs. Applications will be available at the YA desk. TECH Helpers (2 sessions) Monday-Saturday, June 25 – July 14; July 16 – August 04, 12pm – 8:00pm Tech savvy teens will assist children with their technological needs. 11th and 12th graders only, please! Please note: All STEP UP SUMMER volunteers must have valid Elmont Library
card ACCEPTED teens will be emailed AND must reply to confirm. Teens not chosen WILL NOT receive an email. Teen will be chosen for ONE session only, if applicable. Please do not apply if you cannot attend mandatory orientation and commit to the 6 week program.

Non-residents will be placed on the non-resident waiting list
Registered participants must be present at the time the program is scheduled to begin. We regret that after that time, their place will be given to those on the waiting list
If you are unable to attend a workshop, please call Teen Corner so your place can be given to a patron on the waiting list
Patrons who repeatedly fail to attend programs they have registered for may be refused admittance to future programs
Participation in a library program entitles the Elmont Memorial Library to use photographs for publicity purposes
