The world is becoming more complex and uncertain faster and faster. R&D

organizations have been slow to respond. The answer is not to disband corporate

R&D and push it all to the periphery. The answer is to create an Innovation System

that reimagines R&D, Strategy and Business development as an integrated,

extended and distributed discipline.

The average lifespan of a company in the Fortune

500 is only 17 years. In a decade, 50% of the

companies now in the Fortune 500 will not be there.

The effectiveness of R&D of large companies has

decreased by 65% over the past decades. Yet the

effectiveness of the top companies has increased.

R&D organizations haven’t delivered the goods needed

to achieve the growth anticipated by stakeholders.
