SPECIAL GIFTS FUND: It has come to the attention of the Special Gifts Committee that some misunderstanding may exist regarding the Special Gifts Fund and its use. It has been established and presented to the Voters Assembly that this fund will not be used to address the church General Fund (budget) nor for church maintenance. Although there are several reasons for this, the primary one is that the gifts in this fund are memorials to the church; and memorial funds are held for special uses, purposes and projects. Currently the Special Gifts Fund is being utilized to pay for part of the cost of constructing the new vestibule and the elevator. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
FINANCE COMMITTEE: After careful review and prayerful consideration, the Finance Committee felt compelled to seek a Line of Credit loan from the Central Illinois District Church Extension Fund. This is necessary at this time to assure payment of our March expenses. Please continue to pray for the continued financial well being of our congregation.
COME JOIN A NEW WOMEN'S BIBLE STUDY! It is never to late to join a new women’s Bible Study! We will meet on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. at church beginning on March 30 and through May. Our study book will be "True Woman 101: Divine Design: An Eight-Week Study on Biblical Womanhood". Please call Sue Woodruff at 347-1888 or 241-3776 if you wish to order a book. Our first session will be an overview. We will delve into the first lesson on Wednesday, April 6th. Come join us for prayer, devotion, and conversation!
EPIPHANY SOCIETY will meet on Thursday, April 7th at 1:00pm. Program will be given by Pastor Kevin. Hostesses are Betty Weyhrich & Lottie Munter. Mission project of the month is Personal Care Kits. REBEKAH CIRCLE will meet on April 14th at 7:00pm.

GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN SCHOOL'S 10TH ANNUAL BENEFIT AUCTION COMMITTEE wishes to offer our heartfelt gratitude to all who celebrated "A Decade of Reflections with Ewe!". Many, many thanks to all who donated, sponsored, or prayed for this year's efforts to be successful as we gathered to raise funds for GSLS's building fund and the three "Fund-An-Item" selections chosen by the school board and teachers! God has truly blessed our combined efforts over these past 10 auctions. Campbell’s Labels Discontinued:
Campbell’s has announced that it is discontinuing its Labels for Education program as of July 31, 2016. Please turn in all labels by July 1st to the school or church offices. Participating products include: Campbell’s, V8, Spaghetti O’s, Prego, Swanson, Pace, Pepperidge Farm, Goldfish, and Bic. Questions – Contact Mr Mickley at 353-9529. Campbell’s will launch a new program in August 2016. Thanks for your generous support of this program that provides additional funding for Good Shepherd.

Praise the Lord! “Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary;…Praise him with trumpet sound;…praise him with strings and pipe!...Praise him with loud clashing cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!” Psalm 150:1, 3, 5-6 As I sit here writing this note, I am still praising God for the blessing of so many musicians in our church. It amazes me that nearly 10% of the 422 people who were in worship on Easter Sunday participated in our choir, hand bells, wind ensemble, praise team and/or played our organ. What a blessing to have so many musical people! I also praise God for everyone else who participated in the worship service in other ways including singing the hymns and songs and coming to the Lord’s Table for Holy Communion. Worship is just not about praising God, but more importantly about what God does for us in giving us forgiveness and the blessings of His Word. If you recall my sermon, the final point was about Jesus dying and rising again not just to save us FROM death & hell (which is awesome!), but also to save us FOR living our lives for Him. Let us continue to encourage each other to continue gathering together every week for worship so that we can continue to be strengthened in our faith and hearing of the grace God offers.
