Without doubt the arrival of a new car is one of the most exciting aspects of working in the automotive industry. The eagerly anticipated launch of New Citroën C5 Aircross SUV brings with it a wealth of opportunity for us all, providing another compelling reason for customers and prospects to consider the Citroën brand and to visit your showrooms.

However, we MUST work together to maximise the awareness of New Citroën C5 Aircross SUV in order to make the most of this opportunity. The opportunity is of course huge. You will find some analysis of the segment and the key players within this guide.

A great benefit of selling larger cars is larger margins! Ensure you plan your marketing and launch activity with an eye on getting as many orders as possible to deliver for your bottom line.

The purpose of this guide is to give you the details of our national marketing plans and detail what marketing actions are expected of each and every individual dealership in order to get maximum return on our joint investment.

RetailEvery dealer is expected to run a ten day in-showroom launch event between 8 – 17 February. Within this guide you will find the necessary actions to ensure success, including information about support materials and ideas for the pre-launch, launch and post launch phases. All dealers are also expected to take this conquest vehicle out in to your local territory via an offsite display, to be held before 24 March.

MotabilityThe Motability market is a huge opportunity for New Citroën C5 Aircross SUV. You must therefore have a separate in-showroom launch event dedicated to Motability customers and prospects. Remember, we have a huge heritage within Motability, so dig back more than one cycle for prospects.

BusinessFinally, Business Centres and Business Active dealers should have a B2B focused event. New Citroën C5 Aircross SUV gives you the key to access user chooser clients and business users who would not normally consider the Citroën brand.

National Launch Plan

A comprehensive national marketing plan is in place to support the launch of New Citroën C5 Aircross SUV, helping us to raise awareness, increase consideration and drive enquiries for our new flagship model.

A two burst approach to our national activity ensures strong presence in all key advertising channels through Q1 and Q3. This is complemented by substantial ‘always on’ digital activity throughout the year.

The initial burst of activity between November and April is detailed below and includes;

• National TV advertising across February, March and April achieving over 400 TVRs, meaning 80% of our target audience have over 5 “opportunities to see”.

The national media plan is robust and heavyweight, aimed at quickly building model awareness, interest and enquiries. The effectiveness of this is significantly amplified by local dealer marketing which targets both existing customers and in-territory prospects.

Look out for additional advice as we get feedback from national results.

Initial Facebook TargetingDisplay advertising is key to building awareness and enquiries. Geo-targeting using demographics, interests etc. ensure the right people in your territory are made aware of New C5 Aircross SUV.

Media placement costs can be high and the process complicated so we will run a 6 week display advertising campaign on behalf of dealers.

Full details will be announced but the creative will be branded for each dealer, targeted at individuals in each territory. It will deliver 1,000s of impressions per dealer which click through directly to your website.

Dealer charge will be based on ASP with an average cost to dealers likely to be in the region of £450 and should be taken from existing new car retail budgets.

We will advise the target criteria in the near future so dealers wishing to supplement this campaign can do so with maximum effectiveness.

Facebook is another effective way of building awareness and enquiries. It also enables the communication of more sophisticated messages including finance offers.

As always, assets will be supplied on PSA Studio and all dealers should be budgeting to spend in the region of £250-400/month depending on size on New C5 Aircross SUV Facebook advertising.

Experience shows us that £300 dealer campaigns are delivering around 100,000 in-territory targeted impressions with over 400 clicks!

LAUNCH EVENT - All dealers are to promote an in-showroom launch event between 8 – 17 February for retail customers and prospects. Planning for this event should take place immediately. Please refer to the event checklist within this guide.

PRESS - A small element of press advertising will help generate additional reach of your event.

DIRECT MAIL INVITATION - A high quality mailer will be created on PSA Studio which is to be used by all dealers. This will be eye-catching and promote the chance to win a New C5 Aircross SUV. Dealers are to prioritise their key prospects for inclusion in this mailer and subsequent follow up. More information to follow.

Promotion of your Launch EventKEY MESSAGE: BE THE FIRST TO EXPERIENCE NEW CITROËN C5 AIRCROSS SUV AT OUR LAUNCH EVENT

EMAIL INVITATION - Share news of your showroom event with your existing database. Prioritise those who engaged with your pre-launch communication and include a phone call follow up to arrange appointments and test drives.

WEBSITE - Ensure the launch event is prominent on the homepage of your website from the beginning of January. Artwork available from PSA Studio.

FACEBOOK POSTS - Use your own Facebook page and post the launch message throughout January. Consider boosting your posts with a small amount of media spend and also target lookalike audiences - refer to the Facebook advertising guide on PSA Studio for details.

2019 Q1 Activity

LOCAL PRESS RELEASE - Utilise the press release on PSA Studio to promote your event in local press. Contact local motoring journalists and invite them to your event. Consider loaning them a car in return for print and digital press reaction.

FACEBOOK ADVERTISING - In order to attract a conquest audience all dealers should run a month long lead generation campaign on Facebook. Targeting advice can be found within this guide and recommended spend is no less than £250 for a one month campaign.

ALL SHOWROOM POS ON DISPLAY - All dealers will receive a POS pack for New C5 Aircross SUV which will arrive in line with your showroom and demonstrator vehicles.

Attendance at the Launch Event will be incentivised with the chance to win a New Citroën C5 Aircross SUV. A website will be created for registrations. One entrant nationally will win a New Citroën C5 Aircross SUV and be one of the first people in the country to experience ‘Comfort Class SUV’.

Dealer Checklists

Make sure all your print and email invitations have been sent out as set out in the launch phase.

Prioritising those who have engaged with previous communications, you should ensure a thorough follow up process is in place.

Ensure your showroom has the point of sale material on display in a prominent position.

Ensure you have correct staffing levels with clear roles and responsibilities briefed.

Make customers feel welcome with adequate customer parking available.

Ensure good availability of your demonstrator vehicle and a clear appointment calendar is in place.

Arrange for suitable refreshments to be available throughout your event.

Ensure the opportunity to win a New C5 Aircross SUV is promoted across as many channels as possible and is included on all launch event material.

Invite local automotive press to attend your event, offering them a demonstrator vehicle with your senior sales team presenting the car to them.

Post photos of your decorated showroom, balloons, the car arriving, on Facebook and boost - promoting the launch event.

Identify and book a suitable Q1 placement during Q4.

Contact Citroën Dealer Events for support in finding the right venue.

Your display must be indoors, a minimum of 4 days in duration and be staffed during peak times.

Ensure you have booked the right level of event kit, including a mechanism for data capture.

Ensure your display car is fitted with decals displaying your dealership name.

Utilise the New C5 Aircross SUV pocket guide as a handout during your event.

Offer give-aways to children - balloons, pens, cupcakes. Run a competition - how many sweets in the central storage, balloons in the boot... to draw attention to the display.

10-Day Event Product PlacementBusiness MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

All Business Active dealers are required to put the following business customer actions in place;

• Ensure your website contains full business offer information for New C5 Aircross SUV

• Hold a dedicated business customer event – such as a breakfast meeting - before the end of March

• Contact all business prospects and customers, using the official email and DM invites from PSA Studio

• Ensure you have contract hire decals fitted for the duration of your event

• Offer local businesses an extended test drive opportunity. Visit offices/light industrial estates at lunchtime to allow employees to experience New C5 Aircross SUV. Create some “noise”…

Motability MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

All dealers are required to put the following Motability customer actions in place;

• Ensure your website contains full Motability offer information for New C5 Aircross SUV

• Hold a dedicated Motability customer event before the end of March

• List your event on the Motability website – go to www.motabilitydealer.co.uk and click on the ‘events’ tab

• Contact all Motability prospects and customers regardless of change date, using the official email and DM invites from PSA Studio

• Promote your event on your website and Facebook page, boosting your Facebook post with a small amount, not less than £50 to extend your reach

• Take customers out of market early, by putting incentives in place to encourage attendance at your event, such as extended test drives, accessory offers or customer vouchers

• Ensure you have full Motability point of sale materials on display during your event

• Identify at least one local Motability business or charity and look to form a partnership with them
