2. Green Public Procurement (GPP)
The purpose of the directive is to meet EU environment targets i.e. on air quality and climate change
The directive is applicable on publicly procured products and services in ten groups including road based public transport
The directive is mandatory for road based public transport as of December 2010
The tendering bodies of public transport in EU have to apply the directive for rolling stock and transport services

3. New EU-Directive, GPP >>> 3 Options *
Option 1
Limitation of the impact of Energy, CO2, NOx, PM and NMHC is to be realised by setting technical specifications in the documentation for the purchase of road transport vehicles.
Option 2
Limitation of the impact of Energy, CO2, NOx, PM and NMHC is to be realised by making it a part of the decision procedure where the impact is included as award criteria in the conditions of the procurement procedure.
Option 3
Limitation of the impact of Energy, CO2, NOx, PM and NMHC is to be realised by monetising the impact as set out in Article 5 in g/km (fuel consumption/km) and consecutively used for the purchasing decision.* EU Letter A6-0291/2008
