To share in the worship experience causes each of us to be affected in differ-ent ways. For some, worship provides an avenue for spiritual growth. For others, worship lends itself to the opportunity to help others grow. Thus, in the process, we develop a stronger sense of leadership through faith. When we give from our core being with Godly intentions, then, what comes back to us is greatly multiplied.

For some individuals worship touches bruised and battered emotions, fears and frustrations. In some manner our worship helps us deal with the stresses and strains of everyday life. The dynamic Spirit is ALWAYS at work within the wor-ship setting. Our God is presently seeking us through every act and action of wor-ship and praise. Our foundation is sure and steady. Why we worship is found in Our Savior, Jesus Christ. The experience of growing in and through the word shared and proclaimed enriches our being, addresses our need, and further blesses our joys.

The chief cornerstone, the Rock, of everyday worship and life is Jesus Christ!

LET EACH ONE BUILD UPON THE ROCK!

We are excited to share the news that this body of believers will formally join the Disciples of Christ Fellowship during our Celebration of Formation, Monday, Octo-ber 19, 2015. This celebration will take place at First United Methodist Church, 131 N.W. 4th, Oklahoma City, beginning at 6:00p.m.

Many of you have walked with us on this journey and we would be honored to have each of you share in tis celebration as we by faith continue the focus to be; a commu-nity of Hope with the purpose of recovering the displaced and the underserved within the community.

Our mission remains to transform lives by the living word of God and by demon-strating discipleship through providing resources that empower those disenfranchised and economically oppressed.

As always we pray God’s blessing on each of your ministries and welcome your prayers and support fo the up building of kingdom focus within the Refuge Fellow-ship Church

The following is from a letter received from Infant

Crisis Services:

I just wanted to say thank you for everything you do

for Infant Crisis Services. I say thank you on behalf

of the staff, the board, the volunteers and the countless

babies and toddlers that we have been able to serve

since our inception in 1984. Because of your generosi-

ty, we have been able to serve more than 205,000 ba-

bies and toddlers and we are still counting.

Our mission is and will always be to provide life-

sustaining formula, food and diapers to babies and

toddlers in times of crisis...because no baby should go

hungry. Please know that your donation will enable

us to provide life’s basic necessities to needy babies

and toddlers in our community.

It is because of people like you that we have a place to

call home. A place where families can turn for help

and hope. There is no greater feeling than watching a

family walk out of our building with food to feed their

toddler, diapers to clothe their baby and most of all,

hope: a four letter word that means so much to these

families as they face a personal crisis in their lives.

That is why we do what we do and there are not nearly

enough ways to say thank you for all that you have

done.

Please contact Jo Lynne Jones, director of develop-

ment and communications, at [email protected]

if you have any questions about the stewardship of

your gift or would like more information on how you

can help the deserving babies and toddlers we serve.

Always for the babies,

Miki Farris Executive Director

Annual

Ladies of the Evening CWF

Fundraiser Luncheon

It’s almost that time again! Time for Trunk or Treat! And this year New Hope will be adding something new

to the festivities…..Car-nival Games. That is games for the trick-or-treaters to play between the trunks!

How cool is that? Decorate your car, wear a costume and/or oversee a game! There are instructions for mak-

ing simple games on the bulletin board in the narthex. There are also sign-up sheets so the Evangelism Com-

mittee will know how many Trunks and Games we will have. So be sure to sign up! Trunk or Treat will be

on Halloween:

Saturday, October 31st from 3:00-7:00p.m.

Plan now to be a part of this fun night. Games and prizes and treats! Oh, My!

Baptisms

Refuge Fellowship Church to baptize over 50 new Disciples in the Oklahoma River

You may already know, Refuge Fellowship Church will be holding a large baptism in the Ok-lahoma River on Sunday, October 18th, at 3 pm. This is the day before Refuge's big celebra-tion (Monday, Oct. 19th) to mark their recog-nition as a "Congregation in Formation" with-in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). The congregation of Refuge Fellowship Church, in many respects very much like Disciples of long ago, not having a building or a baptistery of their own, have decided to seek the same solution as our distant predecessors.

We have secured approval from the City of Okla-homa City to conduct this service, which will be held at the boat ramp at 1105 S. Byers Ave., on the south bank of the river, just west of the Lin-coln Blvd. bridge. And everyone is invited to come and share in this exciting time.

Annual Cleveland County

C.R.O.P Walk

2:00p.m. Sunday, October 18th

Walk if you can—if you can’t walk, then sponsor a walker. In the last 25 years, CROP Hunger Walks have raised more than $300 million to help people strug-gling to feed their families—both around the world and around the corner. In fact, 25 percent of the funds raised by CROP Hunger walks benefit the communities where they take place by supporting local food banks, pantries, community gardens and other hunger-fighting initiatives.

New Hope Children Fundraising efforts for

CROP Walk The children of New Hope Christian Church have begun their annual fundraising efforts to raise money for the Cleveland County CROP Walk. Each child has re-ceived a medium bag which holds an empty 1 1/2 quart jar with a lid. The way we fundraise for this organiza-tion is by collecting change, pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters. Monies are to be collected and stored in the jar. When it's time to collect and count the monies, the kids will bring their collection to church. Their name will be written on the jar lid and counted. The child that collects the most change will receive a special prize. The change is taken to a local bank to be counted and exchanged for cash bills. As a group, the children and their families are invited to participate in the CROP Walk event which takes place on October 18, 2015. What an incredibly worthy cause and the perfect way to demonstrate to the children a way to care for others by giving a little bit of what we have, pooling our resources so that someone can have a better life. Join us won't you? You can help by donating your change to any New Hope child to help in this worthy cause. LITTLE CHANGE + LITTLE EFFORT = BIG CHANGE FOR MANY LIVES

Attention: New Hope Kids!

Sunday, October 25th, All New Hope

an organization that works with incarcerated and re-

cently released persons, assisting them with education

and employment opportunities.

The toys being collected at NHCC will be given to

TEEM to allow incarcerated parents to “shop” for their

children for Christmas.
