The TRX-4 Scale and Trail Crawler is equipped r ight out of the box
with Traxxas' gam e-changing portal axle set . Portal axles lift the t ruck
at the wheels for huge center pumpkin ground clearance. I n order to
achieve the sam e clearance with st raight axles (and not get stuck) ,
your t ires would have to be over an inch taller than the TRX-4's t ires.
St raddling boulders with ease, the TRX-4 chassis definitely takes the
path less t ravelled and sim ply leaves all the others behind.
The portal axles use gear reduct ion r ight at the wheels that
dramat ically reduces undesirable torque twist . Total axle gear
reduct ion is over twice non-portal designs. The Titan 550 motor torque
is t ranslated into st raight , powerful, forward m ot ion, rather than
wasted energy twist ing your r ig r ight off the rocks.
Portal axle geom et ry raises the axle link mounts and center dr iveshaft ,
great ly reducing cr it ical dr iveshaft and suspension link angles. This
m eans less st rain on the dr iveshafts, and the higher suspension links
provide greater clearance with less scraping and dragging across the
rocks. The steering drag link and t ie rod are also raised up and out of
harm 's way.

A heavy-duty form ed-steel ladder frame with m olded cross m em bers
creates an ext remely r igid backbone that lets the suspension do the
work it was designed to do. You’ll feel the difference on t rails where
the elim inat ion of chassis flex allows for precise wheel placem ent when
navigat ing technical terrain.
Traxxas gives you the versat ilit y to lock and unlock the front and rear
different ials to suit your dr iv ing needs direct ly from your t ransm it ter .
Leave the different ials unlocked for relaxed dr iving on the t rail with
sm ooth, t ight turning and bet ter handling at high speeds. When the
t rail gets technical, lock the front and rear different ials, or j ust the
front , for superior gr ip over ext rem e terrain. Our patented design has
been proven rugged and capable in the Traxxas Sum m it . New sleeved
m icro cables control the different ial act ion for scale appearance,
without lim it ing the huge suspension art iculat ion.
Tradit ional crawlers sacrifice turning radius for t ract ion. The TRX-4’s
rem ote locking different ials disengage to take full advantage of it s
superior 45 degree steering angle. Once you clear the obstacle,
re-engage the different ials for ult imate t ract ion.
When the going gets tough, use your t ransm it ter to shift into low
range for incredible 4-wheel dr ive pulling torque. Shift into high range
for blast ing down the t rail. The plush suspension design absorbs rough
terrain with ease and delivers outstanding scale appearance.

A new full-m etal gear digital servo gives you the durabilit y and
steering authority you need to confident ly and reliably power through
tough situat ions.

ago with our innovat ive designs. The TRX-4 Scale and Trail Crawler is
fully waterproof for how you like to really play, not “ splash resistant .”

water in your elect ronics.

The TRX-4 Trail and Scale is being shown with the legendary Land
Rover Defender body, com plete with excit ing scale details for an
authent ic 4-wheelin’ experience. We’ve included a funct ional spare
wheel and t ire, an off- road jack, and spare fuel canisters. Secure your
t rail gear in the included roof basket . There’s even a snorkel for taking
the waterproof TRX-4 through creek crossings. The rugged bumpers
provide clearance and protect ion and are equipped with recovery
D- r ings. The front bum per is designed to be com pat ible with m any
popular off- road accessories.
The scale details did not stop with the body. We went underneath to
install detailed inner fenders that integrate with the scale look of the
floor pans and shock towers, keeping rocks, mud, and twigs out of the
chassis. The inner fenders are also equipped with pockets to install our
opt ional LED rock light kit ( sold separately) to light up the night t rail,
cast ing light r ight where it ’s needed. The rock lights m ake changing a
“ flat t ire” on the t rail a breeze! ; - ) I ntegrated rock sliders help protect
the body from damage.
The Traxxas TQi radio system is equipped with cruise control for
long-distance t reks. Set your speed using the t ransm it ter and then use
the mult i- funct ion knob to fine- tune it faster or slower to precisely
match the pace of your caravan of t rail explorers. Cruise cont rol
m akes it easy and com fortable for the TRX-4 Scale and Trail Crawler
to be your com panion for hours of dr iv ing fun and explorat ion.
The new XL-5 HV elect ronic speed cont rol br ings 3S LiPo capabilit y for
st ronger, more efficient running. New speed cont rol profiles have been
added for smooth and precise cont rol. A new Trail profile facilitates
sm ooth dr iv ing for m ost of your adventures, while a new Crawl profile
int roduces hill hold and instant reverse for ext rem ely technical
courses. Either will help you navigate obstacles with ease, r ight from
the start . Long run t im es, up to 2 hours, are possible with a Traxxas
3S 5000m Ah iD LiPo bat tery pack!
The 1.9 Canyon Trail t ires and tuned foam inserts are super-soft and
grippy to deliver superior bite on rocky surfaces with convincing scale
