Essentials of Hazardous Materials Management Course
April 7, 14 & 21, 2015
The New Jersey Chapter will presenting the Essentials of Hazardous Materials
Management class on three successive Tuesdays in April ( April 7, 14 & 21). The
class provides a comprehensive review of health & safety, environmental laws and
regulations and the basic scientific and management principles on which they are
based. The course will be held in a classroom space donated by PSE&G at their
training center in Edison. Please go to our website ahmpnj.org for more

you to the New Jersey Chapter! In the issue, we will highlight our meetings and events
for 2015 and review past successful Chapter events.
Raritan River Cleanup
Saturday April 18, 2015
Each spring the Raritan Headwaters Associations (RHA)
organizes clean up programs to protect water quality and
promote public stewardship of local streams and rivers.
This year’s stream cleanup will be held on Saturday,
April 18, 2015 from 9 am until 12 pm at multiple
locations around the watershed in Hunterdon, Somerset,
and Morris Counties. Please go to our website

The April business meeting of the NJ Chapter will be held on April 28, 2015 at
Rolf’s Restaurant & Pub in Sterling, NJ. Ronald J. Stokes of RjS
RegCompliance, LLC, will give a presentation on TransCaer™. TransCaer™
(TRANSportation Community Awareness and Emergency Response) is a
voluntary outreach effort in the USA that focuses on assisting communities in
preparing for and responding to a possible hazardous material transportation

Joint meeting with the American Society of Safety Engineers. The

December Chapter Meeting—December 8, 2015
Our end of the year holiday dinner meeting will feature a
presentation by Blaine Rothauser, Senior Natural Resource Specialist
with GZA GeoEnvironmental on the BioDiversity of New Jersey.

In December, the Chapter held its annual
holiday business meeting. Our speaker was
Rich Cartwright who gave an inspiring talk
titled, “101 Places a Hazardous Material
Manager Must Visit Before They Die!”
In November, the Chapter held it first
“Aspiring Professionals Networking Event”
in conjunction with the Licensed Site
Remediation Professional Association and
the Association of Environmental Geologists.
In October, the Chapter had a joint
meeting with the ASSE– New Jersey
Chapter at the Chubb Fire Safety Institute.
