Heart of Mary - ‘Uninvited - a Virtual Book Study’
Think of a situa on when you had a choice to walk into it full of Christ, living loved and looking for ways
to bless others, or to walk in looking for others to bless you in your emp ness. What choice did you
make? What were the results? What would you do differently, next me, if anything? Don’t be hard on
yourself if you tend to enter situa ons burdened by your own emp ness. There is hope! You really can
change your habit in this area. This week’s statement to hold onto is “I can choose to bring my emp ness or God’s fullness
into any situa on I face.” How can you know that God’s fullness is already available to you? Read Ephesians 3:14-19 Paul
prays that you will be strengthened with power through the Holy Spirit in your inner being. What will that
accomplish? And why is this important?

Holy Name of Mary -
Prayer is the world's greatest wireless connec on! During
this me of COVID-19 pandemic many of us and our chil-
dren are spending much more me on social media. On
January 24, 2020 (the Feast Day of St. St. Francis de Sales,
patron saint of journalists) Pope Francis released a mes-
sage about "fake news" which points out that anything
that tells only half truths, uses innuendo to tear down
people or ins tu ons, clouds or sugar coats a situa on or
offers false promises is actually “fake news”. But he also
pointed out that social media along with older forms of
print media can be used to inform about truth and pro-
mote it. St. Francis de Sales had been named as the pa-
tron saint of writers and journalists in 1923. We are en-
couraged to consider the proper use of all types of media
on World Communicaons Day which will be celebrated
Sunday, May 24 at the Va can and in most dioceses
around the world. Shirley Ann 226 661 0164

Sixth Sunday of Easter
From The Pastor’s Pen -
Today, we celebrate The Sixth Sunday of Easter. In today’s readings, we come
to an apprecia on of the Chris an calling. This calling leads to a way of life
filled with the Holy Spirit that is different from the world around us.
By now, you will have received the mail out. This mail out contains the work
of the transi on commiHee to date with a number of changes that will take
place when the Avon-Thames Catholic Family of Parishes is ac vated on the
weekend of July 4th
and 5th
. Please read the material in the mail out a number
of mes so that there are no surprises. I appreciate the fact that many of us
do not like change, and this is only complicated by the difficult me that we
find ourselves in with this pandemic. However, this is taking place across our
Diocese as families of parishes con nue to be ac vated. I am confident that
we can make the adjustment that these changes require, and know that we
can count on your support.
Our three long standing parishes joined in 2020 to form the Avon-Thames
Catholic Family of Parishes. Water connects us in a powerful way through our
bap smal call of cleansing and renewal by the grace of the Holy Spirit. Geo-
graphically, our communi es are joined by the two waterways, and by our
shared faith. Our logo is outlined by a circle, a symbol of the unity of God:
“From eternity to eternity, You are one”. The three crosses refer to the Trinity
and three Catholic communi es which are now one. In striving to realize our
bap smal call to be priest, prophet, and king our goal of being a “Mission ori-
ented parish, forming disciples of Jesus” (Bishop R. Fabbro) will be achieved.
Monday, May 18th
we are celebra ng Victoria Day and therefore the office will
be closed un l Tuesday, May 19th
at 1 pm. Have a good holiday weekend.
