New Orleans City Park 2018 Photo Contest The Soul of City Park

More than 160 years in the making, New Orleans City Park invites

photographers to enter its 2018 Photo Contest! We are looking for striking

images that capture The Soul of City Park: natural beauty, recreational

activities, architectural points of interest, as well as people enjoying and

enriching the Park.

Guidelines: All photographs must be taken on the grounds of New Orleans

City Park between May 1, 2018 and June 30, 2018. Each pho-

tographer may submit no more than TWO photographs to the

competition. Each photo submitted must include 1 entry form.

By entering the contest, photographers grant New Orleans

City Park a royalty-free license to reproduce, distribute, and

publicly display submitted photographs for advertising, pro-

motional, and other purposes. The photographer may or may

not be credited when their photo is used. Photographers re-

tain all rights to their photos for personal use.

Photographs must be in digital format (captured with either a

digital camera or scanned from a film slide, negative, or print)

and submitted in JPEG format. 1100x570 is ideal. Each entry

must be accompanied by the 2018 Photo Contest Entry Form, a

Model Release Form for identifiable individuals in a submitted

photo, and a Parent/Guardian Release for photographers un-

der age 18. All entries must be received by July 6, 2018.

Do not place a watermark on photo.

To Submit Entry: Email the Photo Contest Entry Form, an Image Release Form

for each identifiable individual in a submitted photo, and a

Parent/Guardian Release (for photographers under age 18),

along with photograph, to CONTEST@nocp.org. Or you may

mail the forms and a CD with the digital photo to: New Orleans

City Park, 2018 Photo Contest, 1 Palm Drive, New Orleans, LA

70124. You may also drop off the forms and photo CD to same

address. Emails/discs and appropriate forms must be in to the

Administration building before 5 pm on July 6, 2018 and will

not be returned. Entries not adhering to the rules will not be

reviewed.

New Orleans City Park 2018 Photography Contest official rules,

terms, and conditions: NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO WIN

Deadline for submission: Photo submissions can be emailed/sent in starting May 1, 2018 through

July 7, 2018 (but photos must be taken between May 1, 2018 and June 30, 2018.)

Judging: There will be 1 “Best in Show” (1 winner) and 5 “First Place” in each of the 5 categories (5

winners). Each category will also have a “Second Place” and a “Third Place” and “Hon. Mention” win-

ner. Judging will be done by a panel of City Park employees and professional photographers. The

winners will be notified via the email address provided at the time of entry.

Acknowledge Rules: By participating in this contest, you agree to the official rules, terms and condi-

Official Rules, Terms and Conditions:

Eligibility: Open to all photographers at least 18 years old or older and photographers under 18

years of age with the consent of their parent or legal guardians. Individuals affiliated with New Orle-

ans City Park (“The Park”), including employees and their immediate families (children, siblings and

spouses) are not eligible to enter.

· Mail or hand deliver Photo Contest Entry Form, a Model Release Form for each identifiable individu-

al in a submitted photo, and a Parent/Guardian Release (for photographers under age 18), along with

a CD containing photographs, to: New Orleans City Park, 2018 Photo Contest, 1 Palm Drive, New Or-

leans, LA 70124. Emails/discs and appropriate forms must be in to the Admin building before 5 pm

on June 6, 2018.

By entering/participating in this promotion/contest, you indicate your full agreement to and ac-

ceptance of these official rules, terms and conditions and City Park’s decisions, which are final and

binding.

Winning Photo: The winning photo will be announced in July 2018.

Image Releases: You are responsible for obtaining the necessary releases from every identifiable

person depicted in your photo (for minors, releases from their parents or legal guardians are re-

quired), and you must be able to provide copies of those releases to the Park at the time of photo en-

try.

Warranty: You represent and warrant that the photo submission is your original work, that your sub-

mission does not violate any agreement between you and a third party, and you’re your photo and its

submission shall not infringe upon or violate any law, agreement or other rights of any kind, of any

third party, without limitation, rights affecting copyright, patent, trademark, unfair competition, con-

tract, defamation, privacy or publicity.

License and Intellectual Property:

The copyright in any submission shall remain the property of the entrant and, by submitting a photo,

you grant the Park, and those authorized by the Park, a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, irrevoca-

ble and non-exclusive license to display, distribute, reproduce and create derivative works of the en-

tries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or subsequently developed, to support its work

and that of the Park’s affiliates and cooperating nonprofit partners. Uses include, but are not limited

to: print and digital, electronic newsletters; websites, slide shows, and promotional items such as

printed cards, and calendars. Any photo reproduced may or may not include a photographer credit.

The Park will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in

connection with the above.

Release and Limitation of Liability:

By submitting a photo, you agree to release, discharge, and hold harmless the Park and its employ-

ees, officers, directors, and representatives from any claims, losses, and damages arising out of their

participation in this photo contest or any contest-related activities.

The Park is not responsible for: (a) any inaccurate information, whether caused by entrants or printing

errors; (b) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the contest; (c) technical failures of any

kind including, but not limited to, electronic malfunctions of any network hardware or software; (d)

technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the contest or the processing of en-

tries; or (e) lost, delayed, misdirected or undeliverable mail or electronic mail.

Publicity:

Participation in the contest constitutes consent to the Park's use of each participant’s name, likeness,

and other information for promotional purposes in any media in furtherance of the Park’s mission

without further payment or consideration.

Conditions:

The contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. The Park reserves the right to cancel the

contest or modify these rules at its discretion. The Park reserves the right to disallow entries that de-

pict brand logos or other intellectual property, whether on signs or posters or in other forms, or that

in its judgment are harmful to the public order, violate standards of decency or are contrary to the

goals of the contest.

Decisions of New Orleans City Park are final and information during judging will be kept confidential.

later created need be submitted to me for any further approval.

I warrant and represent that this release does not in any way conflict with any exist-

ing commitment on my part. I warrant that I have all of the necessary rights to

grant to City Park and its related entities the right to use, publish and copyright my

Image Rights as described herein.
