2017 Move-In/Out Information:
MOVE-IN DATES & TIMES OVERVIEW
Move-In for the Home & Garden Show is done in a “front of the floor first” pattern. In the following pages, you will find a floor map with your suggested Move-In day. Using the current Exhibitor List on
our website {http://neworleanshomeshows.com/info/exhibitors/}, please match your booth number to your Move-In day. (Please note: Booth locations may be changed, or shifted as the show
becomes closer. Please be sure and double-check your location on March 6th.)
Wednesday, March 8th - 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM Entrance into the Superdome loading dock area will be via the West side (closer to the Interstate) of the street closure on Dave Dixon Drive. We ask that you stage in the (middle) turning lane and not block the Interstate exit ramp. PLEASE NOTE: There is a Pelicans game scheduled at the Smoothie King Center on Wednesday night that will impact our Move-In. We encourage you to not wait until the late afternoon to arrive. The best times are 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM and again after 7:00 PM. Thursday, March 9th - 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM Entrance into the Superdome loading dock area will be via the West side (closer to the Interstate) of the street closure on Dave Dixon Drive. We ask that you stage in the (middle) turning lane and not block the Interstate exit ramp. Friday, March 10th - 7:30 AM – 11:30 AM Hand carry and carts only. Vehicles will be allowed to stage on Dave Dixon Dr. (Girod St); space permitting. However, no vehicles will be allowed to drive into the Superdome on Friday. All vehicles must be clear of Dave Dixon Dr. by 12:00 Noon or they will be towed.
Show Hours
Friday, March 10th - 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Saturday, March 11th - 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Sunday, March 12th - 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
MOVE-OUT DATES & TIMES OVERVIEW
Sunday, March 12th - Move Out will begin at 6:00 PM. Due to events scheduled at The Smoothie King Center on Sunday, there will be no pre-staging of vehicles on Dave Dixon Drive until after the pedestrian traffic has cleared. (NOPD will be on hand to enforce this) It is therefore in your best interest to wait until 6:00 PM and then fully pack up your booth. After 6:00 PM we look to start allowing personal vehicles (no large trucks or trailers) into the street closure. At around 7:30 PM we look to allow all vehicle types onto the Show floor. Do not start move out before the show ends; while discourteous to the patrons on the show floor who paid to attend, it also dangerous.
Monday, March 13th – 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM Full vehicle access will be allowed on Monday. All items must be removed from the Superdome by 3:00 PM. Any items left will be considered trash. PLEASE NOTE:
Exhibitors with a balance due will not be allowed to move in until the balance is Paid-In-Full.
Exhibitors will be allowed to drive into the Superdome on Wednesday (3/8) and Thursday (3/9). Carpet will be down on Friday (3/10), so anything moved in on Friday will have to be carried or carted in.
The load-in doors are located off Dave Dixon Dr. (Girod St.). Superdome regulations do not allow for Move-In/Out through the lobby on Poydras Street/Sugar Bowl Dr.
If you do not, or are not able to, make your scheduled time, you may move in later. It may, however, mean that clear access to your booth is not easily available. Please be patient with our staff as they help to accommodate you.
If building or setting up your booth takes a long time, you should plan to arrive before Noon on Wednesday, regardless of your suggested Move-In time. Please note, if you are scheduled to Move-In on Thursday, your booth may not yet have the pipe and drape set.
Exhibitor Parking:
Exhibitor Parking Passes are required for any/all parking areas. Exhibitor Parking Passes will be for sale during Move-In. Purchased from the
Superdome, they are $25 for the event-long Pass (In & Out privileges) Exhibitor Parking will be in Garage 6 (Entrance via Poydras St/Sugar Bowl Dr.) Oversize Vehicles will be allowed to park in Auxiliary Lot C. Exhibitor Parking Passes will be for sale until the show begins. After that time, only
single day passes will be sold. Please Note: The Exhibitor Entrance on show days will be through the Gate A Ground Lobby. Exhibitor Badges MUST be worn to gain entrance beginning one hour prior to the event.
Exhibitor Services: Home & Garden Show:
The Home & Garden Show office is located in Locker Room #1, near Gate A Ground. We will issue Exhibitor Badges from the office during Move-In. If you wish to receive your Badges prior to Move-In, you must contact us prior to February 22rd . If you have not sent us your Badge form, please visit the “Exhibitor Forms” page of our website. Please Note: Exhibitor Badges will not be issued until the balance is paid in full and the form is completely filled out and returned to Show Management.
Utilities:
Utilities (power, water, internet, etc) are ordered exclusively from the Superdome. Utility Order Forms are available on the website under the “Exhibitor Forms” page. Utilities may be pre-ordered now, but also during Move-In; cash or credit cards only.
Exhibitor Displays:
Each booth will be set with 8’ back drape, 3’ side drape, and a 7” x 44” one-line identification sign.
Although you are allowed to provide your own, Freeman Decorators is the preferred provider of tables, chairs, carpet and much more.
The Freeman Exhibitor kit is available on our website under the “Exhibitor Forms” page.
Superdome regulations do not allow for Exhibitors to have balloons as part of their display, nor may they be handed out to patrons during the event.
If you plan to have any open flame products in your booth, please contact us ASAP. There are new Fire Marshal regulations in place we need to make you aware of.
Exhibitor Hotel: The Whitney Hotel - 610 Poydras Street We have negotiated for a special rate at The Whitney Hotel, our preferred hotel. To receive the rate, rooms must be booked by February 20th. Please visit the “Hotel Info” page on our website for booking information.

• The use of clip-on sign sockets, latex or lamp cord wire in displays, or the use of 2-wire clamp-on fixtures, is prohibited by order of fire
prevention bureaus at trade shows and conventions.
• Our company rents approved extension cords and plug strips which provide safe multiple plug-in capabilities.
• Zip cords or two-wire cords are ungrounded and could result in safety hazards. Their use is forbidden in all convention facilities. Please leave
all 2-wired cords at home!
If an exhibitor is not informed or does not understand basic safety standards for electrical wiring, an electrician should be consulted before shipment is made to
the convention facilities.
Serious risks are involved which can be eliminated by understanding basic requirements of safe wiring inside your booth. For the safety of you and the public,
remember these points:
• All wiring must have a 3-wire grounded cord with a minimum of #14 gauge.
• Spot or flood lighting is a hazard when lamps are too close to fabrics or other material which can be affected by heat.
Too frequently, fires have been traceable to faulty wiring, sometimes because of carelessness and/or because of lack of understanding of the risks involved.
In the interest of public safety, exhibits in the convention facilities may be inspected to determined if any violations exist. If they are found, qualified electricians
are available to correct the problems. This work will be performed on a labor and material basis. If the exhibitor does not wish to have the fault corrected,
electrical services to the offending booth will not be connected.
ELECTRICAL CODE
Electrical Services for Exhibits at Convention Facilities

booth to booth.
• All motor and equipment hook-ups requiring hard wire connections.
• Installation and/or repair of electrical fixtures.
• Installation of electrical motors to be energized and electrical apparatus.
The above items require electrical labor, which may be ordered in the Electrical Labor section of the form on the reverse side.
ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR'S LABOR RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Official Electrical Contractor, we will be responsible for:
• All under-carpet distribution of electrical wiring.
• All facility overhead distribution of electrical wiring, including coaxial cable, fiber optics and the distribution of same form product to booth and from
Installation is subject to Local Union Contract and jurisdiction.
All eqipment should be properly tagged and wired with full information as to current, voltage, phase, cycle, horsepower, etc., and ready for connection.
All outlets over 20 amps and with a voltage over 150 volts require electrical labor. This includes a 1 hour minimum to inspect exhibitors that are pre-wired
to plug into our system.
Any labor rates indicated on forms are based upon the current I.B.E.W. union contract at time of printing forms. These rates are subject to change without
notice based on the prevailing union contract at time of show.
Local ordinances prohibit more than 2000 watts per lighting circuit and only one connection for power and motor outlets.
All wiring, motors, electrical installations, etc. must be aproved. To prevent overloading of circuits, exhibitors cannot add wattage except as ordered.
All electrical permits required by the Local Building and Safety Code will be obtained by the electrical contractor.
All flood light, column, and wall outlets are not a part of booth space. A separate outlet must be ordered at regular price for each piece of equipment to be
connected.
Special hanging, hookups, repairs, or installation of electrical equipment will be done on time and material basis.
Dedicated power is double the listed price, and can only be guaranteed before show opening with advance arrangements for date needed.
All electrical outlets will be installed on the floor at the draped backwall of in-line booths and peninsula spaces. Exhibitors with hardwall displays must arrange
for power to be dropped inside the booth if necessary; this will be done on a time and material basis. Overhead power to island booths will be dropped to
one main location per the exhibitor's floorplan. If no plan is provided, the power will be installed at our discretion. Additional overhead power drops are
chargeable on a time and material basis. Distribution and connection(s) to equipment is chargeable on a time and material basis. For further information,
please refer to the Exhibitor's Electrical Information insert.
SMG is not responsible for voltage fluctuation or power failure due to temporary conditions. For your protection, you should install a surge protector on your
computer(s). All electrical installations and connections to all electrical service should be made by a SMG electrician. SMG will not be responsible for any
damage or loss to any equipment, component, computer hardware or software and/or any damage or injury to any person cause by the installaton,
connection or plugging into any electrical outlet by person(s) other than an SMG electrician.
Electricity will be turned on within 30 minutes of show opening and turned off within 30 minutes after show closing.
24-hour service to any outlet will be double the listed price.
