1. PayPal link in emails

Introduced in v7

Installation: This feature is included in existing modules (sale, account).

Activation: Settings > Accounting > PayPal account

Business benefits: The customer processes the payment, not the salesperson.

You don’t need to hold credit card numbers on file.

Links are created automatically.

Installation: This feature is included in existing modules (portal).

Activation: Settings > Accounting

Business benefit: Faster payment procedure by allowing portal users (ie. customers) to pay themselves immediately.

3. Transaction fees

Introduced in trunk (v8), but back-ported to v7

Installation: This feature is included in existing modules (sale, account, portal).

Activation: Settings > Accounting

Business benefits: The net amount corresponds to the full invoice amount

No more write-offs in your accounting books

The customer is responsible for the payment method he chooses

4. Installment plans

Introduced in trunk (v8), but back-ported to v7

Installation: You need to install the paypal_installment_plan module

Enhanced Recurring Payment for PayPal Standard ($20/month)

Activation: Accounting > Configuration > Miscellaneous > Payment terms

Business benefits: Decrease collection time

Decrease the risk of customers defaulting on payments

Get the customer’s commitment at once, even in advance!
