Newark, NJ, Sept. 2019—Broadway House for Continuing Care has been named one of America’s Best for Extended Care by the Women’s Choice Award®, America’s trusted referral source for the best in healthcare. The award signifies that Broadway House has been designated as one of approximately 1,000 extended care facilities out of over 15,000 nationally.
The Women’s Choice Award helps people make educated decisions about where to find the best care by evaluating results from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) 5-Star Rating system. The methodology for the award is unique in that it also assesses primary research about women’s healthcare preferences.
America’s Best for Extended Care Facilities have received 4 or 5 star ratings from CMS. Broadway House is a CMS 5-Star Rated facility in all rating categories. “We are honored to receive this award and national recognition for the compassionate and respectful care we provide,” said Broadway House President/CEO James Gonzalez, MPH, FACHE, LNHA. “Our commitment to quality is inherent in our mission and consistently delivers impressive outcomes such as the achievement of this award.”

Broadway House also received Providigm’s 2019 Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) Advanced Accreditation as a skilled nursing center actively performing QAPI activities. Less than 2% of skilled nursing facilities nationally achieve this advanced level of accreditation.
The Advanced Accreditation confirms that Broadway House is continually assessing items that affect residents’ quality of life such as resident choice in the facility, resident rights, dignity and care issues like pain, weight loss, infections, levels of rehabilitation, staffing and prevention of hospital readmissions.
Broadway House President/CEO, James Gonzalez noted: “Quality is our priority and we take it seriously. We are proud of the work our care team has accomplished to achieve this accreditation. We strive to give our residents the quality of life they deserve.”
Broadway House is a not-for-profit specialty care skilled nursing facility caring for people living with HIV/AIDS. They also provide subacute nursing and rehabilitation for patients needing medical help after a hospital stay or serious injury.
