BIOGround zero for the blues was the southern states of America where black musicians gave birth to a music that came to be synonymous with misery and pain. That was never the whole story though; the music also celebrated overcoming adversity, not playing by the rules and the power of love. For these reasons, the music has reached out across continents, transcending its cultural and social roots. The best of these players always knew that filling the air with torrents of notes is really not what it is all about. The deep and perhaps unreachable emotions are to be found in the space between the notes. Learning the blues is a lifetime activity; it takes time to traverse that landscape, to realise of all the modes of musical expression, none touches the heart and soul quite like the blues. Gary Moore knew this all too well; the examples on this record accord him a rightful place in the pantheon of timeless blues musicians.

Born in Belfast in 1952, Gary Moore was a guitar prodigy. He harnessed an instinctive and exceptional ear for music to relentless practice day in, day out, over weeks, months, and years. Gary was laser-focused on sheer hard work, obsessive dedication, and an unrelenting will to succeed. Through the 1980s, Gary Moore finally broke through with a solo career which earned him legions of fans across Europe and Japan. One album, Wild Frontier was an anthemic, crowd-pleasing homage to Gary’s Celtic roots. Along with the hit single Out in the Fields from the Run for Cover album, Frontier was Gary’s own commentary on the troubles of his home country, an Irish blues story of violence and tragedy. Gary was looking to revisit this rousing style when he died suddenly in February 2011.

This new album, ‘How Blue Can You Get’, is a collection of previously un-released songs from Gary’s substantial body of outstanding work in his back catalogue. Hopefully current and future generations of music fans can discover and re-discover Gary Moore, revelling in the artistry of not just a great guitarist, but a supremely talented musician. Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis Jr. are founding members andlead singers of the original 5th Dimension. Marilyn & Billy left the group and won a Grammy award, which is among their collection of seven Grammy wins, with an even greater number ofnominations. Billy Davis, Jr. has continued to attract attention as a soloist and a duo partner with his wife, Marilyn McCoo. The first Black married stars of a musical variety television program, The Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis, Jr. Show, in 1977, the icons are now recognized as the First Couple of Pop & Soul, with more hours and years of broadcast television than any other married African-American duo. The couple starred in a series of successful musical productions including the Duke Ellington tribute, Hit Me With A Hot Notes, and It Takes Two, a musical variety tribute to legendary soul duos of the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s. Currently, they headline as the stars of Up, Up & Away! a musical fable, based on their lives and incorporating all of their classic music. Mute are excited to announce the release of Telex’sforthcoming newly remastered complication ‘This Is Telex’ on CD and digital formats, out April 30th. The limited edition double vinyl (Disc 1 on shrimp pink vinyl, Disc 2 on fern green vinyl) will follow on May 14.

Telex were formed in 1978 in Brussels, just one of a handful of synthpop pioneers at a time when electronic pop was regarded as novelty, with suspicion, as a harbinger for future dystopia and alienation. Telex were concerned about the consequences of new technology for human communication, a theme explored on tracks like ‘Something To Say’, while their name is taken, ironically, from a now obsolete piece of communications technology, adding a retrofuturist air to their legend. “We like metal and pop,” explains Van Der Loo. “We exist in both worlds, so we went further into these halves on the album. Some songs are heavier. We’re being as true as possible to expose and connect to people through truth.”

Ego Kill Talent’s pursuit of truth dates back to their formation in 2014. A year later, they caught local radio play for the debut single “Sublimated” and landed on the bill for Lollapalooza Brazil. The track ignited streaming platforms worldwide and held a spot in the Top 5 of Spotify’s Viral Top 50 in the UK, France, and Portugal as well as in Brazil. Their self-titled 2017

full-length debut made waves around the globe as they supported System of a Down, Shinedown and Within Temptation in Europe and graced the stages of Download Paris (which scored the perfect KERRANG! review), Rock in Rio, Santiago Gets Louder, Rock Am Ring, Rock Im Park, Graspop Metal Meeting, Download Madrid, Nova Rock, and more. In 2018 Foo Fighters fan club suggested to management that EKT should support their Brazilian tour. The band ended up performing with the rock icons and Queens of the Stone Age at five stadium shows across Brazil. During the tour the boys gave frontman Dave Grohl a gift with a letter to thank the Foos for having them on tour.

“Dave hugged us and was like, ‘We’re drinking together tonight’,” they recall. “It was amazing.” Lead singer, Jonathan Dörr remembers, “It was truly inspiring. A couple months after the tour, we were invited by their team to record our next album at Studio 606.”

Taking them up on the invitation, Ego Kill Talent tracked at this hallowed Los Angeles spot alongside producer Steve Evetts [Architects, Dillinger Escape Plan, The Used] throughout 2019. Musically and lyrically, it embodied the title.

TOUCH is an American band from New York City formed in 1978 with Mark Mangold (keyboards and vocals), Glenn Kithcart (drums), Craig Brooks (guitars and vocals) and Doug Howard (bass and vocals).

Touch's first album was released on Atco Records and their first singles, "Don't You Know What Love Is" and "When The Spirit Moves You" charted on the Billboard Hot 100. "Don't You Know What Love Is" was played heavily on AOR stations in the USA at the end of the 1970s and early '80's, and also did well on the Melody Maker chart in Great Britain.

Touch was the first band to play at the inaugural Monsters of Rock Festival at Castle Donington in 1980 along with Rainbow, Scorpions and Judas Priest. A live version of "Don't You Know What Love Is" appeared on the compilation LP Monsters of Rock, documenting the performances at the festival.

Known for their memorable and diverse songs, stellar musicianship, lush vocal harmonies and dynamic stage performance, Touch is invariably on the list of TOP AOR Bands and their album is considered by many to be among the best AOR Melodic Rock albums of all time.

The original band have now reformed after almost 40 years to create the new album "Tomorrow Never Comes", which is already being hailed as their best work to date.

Mute are delighted to announce the release of A Certain Ratio’s ACR:EPA, out May 7th on limited edition Valentine Red vinyl and digital formats.

ACR:EPA is the first in a trilogy of EPs by A Certain Ratio. EPA is dedicated to close collaborator Denise Johnson and features the band’s final recordings with her. With their remaining recording time from the ACR Loco sessions, the band spent a day jamming in the studio with no fixed agenda. The result is something very special.
