Beginner Riding In this class, we will focus on the fundamentals of balance and moving with the horse. We will be mostly working at walk and trot using various exercises and tools to improve basic riding skills. In this class, every- one will ride independently but will also take turns working on the lunge line to practice balance exercises moving legs and arms. Basic Dressage In this class, we will be focusing on improving the movement of the horse through the dressage funda- mentals of rhythm, straightness, and impulsion. Learn how to use flexion, bending, and stepping under to soften and supple a horse, plus how to begin riding the lateral movements such as leg yield and shoulder in. Get to know horses This class is for those brand new to horses (or those who want a low pressure atmosphere to just get in some “horse time”), come out and learn about the nature of horses, how to lead them and care for them. Spend time grooming a horse and just getting com- fortable around them. This class is very low pressure – there are no expectations to ride, just to have fun with a horse. Clicker Training This class is open to all levels of trainers – whether you have never heard of clicker training before or you have been using it for years. We will be working with a variety of animals in this class, not just horses, to better understand how clicker training works and how to use it in different situations. Have fun being a trainer and improve your timing and understanding of how animals learn! New Riding Class Offerings Starting upon completion of the New Indoor at Honey Brook Stables! Groundwork Classes Riding Classes Intermediate Riding In this class, we work on steering and speed control from the horse. We will be riding patterns and working on the walk, trot, and canter. In this class, we will also incorporate concepts such as bend and controlling the shoulders and haunches of the horse. Pole Work & Jumping This class is open to anyone interested in jumping. Each class will begin with several poles or cavaletti exercises and can progress to jumping single fences, grids, or small courses. You do not have to be jumping currently to ride in this class – riders who are not yet jumping will use the pole work to advance their skills while having the opportunity to watch other riders jumping. In-Hand Work This class is done from the ground and is about devel- oping the skills of classical in hand work. In hand work is about achieving greater control of the horse’s body while strengthening, suppling, and improving move- ment. In hand work includes work on the lunge line, by the shoulder, and with long lines. Again, all levels are welcome. Kid’s Classes Kid’s Riding This class is for riders 13 and below. The young riders will start with a handler then progress to working off the line as their skills improve. Kids get to work in a fun group setting, learning to focus on their horse and riding as part of a group. 80 King Rd Honey Brook, Pa 19344 484-364-9579 [email protected]

MONDAY TUESDAY SATURDAY

Please call the day before the class to reserve your spot. If you are using a school horse, horses will be available first come, first serve.

If you are the only person registered for a class that day, I will call you to ask if you prefer to have a private lesson during that time or reschedule for another day.

Open - During these time slots we will work on whatever you want to work on!

Classroom StyleFor those who can’t get enough of being at the barn and learning, I am offering a class on theory – during this session we will be discussing a wide range of topics from the finer points of clicker training to studying the old grand masters of dressage. Light refreshments will be available during our theory classes as well!

*If there is enough interest we will expand the theory classes to allow for beginner and advanced discussions. **There will occasionally be guest speakers in our theory classes!
